We booked a table checking that we could pay by card, when we arrived the maitre d’ again checked we were paying by card and showed us to our table. A nice meal was ordered ( the waiter recommended we didn’t have the plate that...required flambé at the table) so we followed his guidance. At the end of the meal our card was declined twice and also our second card, and also the table opposite us had their card declined. It was obviously a faulty connection with their system and we were wearing the armband of the 5 star hotel attached to the restaurant. Their answer to this problem was to hold one of us captive until the other went and found the cash. Wi-Fi is notorious throughout the island, this lack of trust between the restaurant and its customers from the hotel attached to it I find bewildering. We later raised a conspiracy theory as all card payments are official and cash can be lost so maybe it is in the staff’s interest to stop the equipment working on occasion?More

This restaurant promised so much but proved a huge disappointment. Food and service were at best average with many many of the menu items unavailable. On arrival we ensured that they were aware that we could only pay by card which they agreed was acceptable,...yet come the end of the meal they claimed our bank was declining cards, two different banks. We also noted that other diners were being told the same thing. No apologies just threatening that one of us needed to remain while I had to return to hotel to find cash. An evening totally ruined. Avoid at all costMore

After a guided tour by Elsey of this beautiful mansion from Melia las Americas ( see review) we decided to book a table tonight , and after reading reviews on here I was very surprised The service was outstanding staff here are extremely nice and...very professional in choices etc , the food amazing and price very reasonable extra credit given considering the shortages in Cuba right now We had the lobster bisque (crème) as starters , veal medallions for main and a bottle of friextnet served ice cold from the cellar food was al la carte but very tasty and filling hope to return before we leave.More

Nice for a couples romantic night but not not family with kiddos. We went with our 7 yr old and 4 yr old and we felt out of place. I suggest if you have littles to visit the more local spots. Plus, it’s cheaper and...your supporting the Cuban people and not lost their governmentMore

We ate here five years ago and really enjoyed it. Went golfing and decided to have lunch here. It is still a beautiful building. To be blunt, the food was awful. I won’t bother with too many details but thank god it wasn’t too expensive....The wine list was decent and the service was great.More

We had read review about this place and hopped off the bus to find it. The Xanadu Mansion is spectacular. We made our way to the bar on the 3rd floor for a Cuba Libre and Pina Colada. The view from the bar is incredible...and the bartender was full of knowledge. Highly recommend.More

Great place to visit for a drink & views upstairs but skip dinner. I had lobster overcooked & awful my friends meal was equally bad. Super slow service can get a far better meal for half the price

We had to convince them to let us eat, which was a first. They told us that they only accepted euros, we told them that we only had pesos but our cards were working, to which they answered that their terminal wasn’t working. After speaking...to 3 different staff they told us we could pay at the golf club, located 50m away. Looking backwards they were probably doing us a favour by trying to not let us in. The entrees were ok considering the price, quality was sub-par in European standards. The mains were incredibly overpriced 40-50€ for a plate that would be 8-10€ anywhere else. You really are only paying for the views which to be fair are quite nice. Food price-quality and service amongst the worst i’ve experienced ever. We visited the 21/08 at 12:00More
