We liked the El Pilon, it was located off the beach and provided consistently good value. The serving area was small, but they managed. There is a snack bar on the end of the restutant that serves burgers, and fries.

This advertises “authentic Dominican cuisine” and has a very limited menu…only 4 main dishes, one of which is GOAT. It looked like pot roast but my sister liked it. My “fried fish” was a whole intact Tilapia way over fried! Not a fan!

The soncocho was very good, but the fried fish was not what I expected. That said, the meal was nice and the staff was pleasant and efficient. I would recommend it, but order the fish with eyes open. 😉

One of the best restaurants in the resort but that's not saying much. Food was good, service was excellent and choices were varied. Not much for the vegetarians in our group, but the kitchen did what they could.

We had not eaten at El Pilon for several years, as my recollection was not a positive experience. This year we gave it a try. Excellent meals for everyone. We even ate here twice.

This is one of the best restaurants on the resort... great food and service. Our group had fish, goat, and beef, and they were all delicious.

I've been to many Dominican cuisine restaurants and had hi hopes. My dish was "ok".. wasn't very impressed. Of all the restaurants we went to, it was the only one that offered a childrens menu....thank god, because my youngest wouldn't have eaten anything on the menu.

With all the other different restaurants in this complex to dine at, I would rate this below average. If you are a fan of Dominican food, then this is your place. Personally, I would select several other restaurants before this one.

My wife and I shared a week at Cofresi Palm Resort and had occasions to eat several meals and snacks at El Pilon near Cofresi beach...We were on the all inclusive plan and enjoyed every hour spent in this restaurant of Dominican Foods

Was definitely my fav restaurant at Cofresi! staff was incredible and the food even better. I was serving myself 3x my usual portions and leaving my plates clean! no complaints

We had been to several good restaurants, but wanted to try El Pilon, which was said to serve authentic Dominican food. We were not disappointed! The food was top-notch, the service perfect and the whole evening a memorable experience
