After finishing our cruise in San Juan , Puerto Rico we decided to go visit old San Juan and its pebbled streets, their shops and of course a place to eat! So we went to Raíces a very puertorrican style restaurant and we weren't disappointed ... the place is a huge labyrinth ..rooms here and there full of people eating... More

Every time we take a trip to San Juan, Raices is the place to go for lunch! The Sangria (red wine) is delicious! The ceviche is so fresh and flavorful. But the main reason to go is for the shrimp mufongo and the tornado. Unbelievably good!!!!

We were a group of 12 on our last night in PR. Had 2 tables. Place was busy but not overly busy. Took a while to get our drinks but food came out pretty quickly. Recommend the Pork Chop Kan Kan special. It's a pork chop with the bacon tail on it. Wow was this good. A little on the... More

Simply put, this place is a tourist trap that has a 20% mark up on typical food that served in a below par ambiance and with underwhelming service. OSJ boasts many Puertorrical style restaurants that surpass this place. Also, the female waiting staff's uniform is grotesque. It recalls the memory of slavery days while creating an eye sore and looking... More

Had been recommended to us on arrival in Old San Juan PR. Hugely popular restaurant and they don't take bookings so expect to wait a while to get a table. Really good vibe and the servers took time to explain the dishes and even dissuaded us from ordering some dishes as it would be too much food (they were right!).... More

THE FOOD WAS AMAZING, but being 'american tourist' we felt a little out of place. We were given two appetizers by mistake, then the server disappeared, and then we ran out of water for over 5 minutes. The food was great, but defiantly felt like 'off the boat' tourist and not truly welcomed. If you are well traveled, or maybe... More

Delicious home style tasting food at a great price. My husband and I shared the famous cancan porkchop. It came with a 2" thick crispy edge of chicharon all around it. Three people can share this pork chop you just have to order the single serve side dishes of rice & beans, pastelles, or whatever you want. They got it... More

This place was really hyped so we felt we had to give it a try. Although the servers were fantastic, everyone in our group was very disappointed and surprised with the poor quality of the food. We had been eating fabulous PR food (cocina criolla) all week and felt that eveything here tasted "mass-produced" and flat in flavor. It catered... More

The Morro de Old San Juan is a spectacular place. The ocean view is breathtaking, the history behind this sight in so interesting, and you will never see anything quite like the structure! A trolley is often available, but it is actually a beautiful walk through the town until one arrives. Have your cameras ready for some excellent pictures.
