Best meal in El Dorado. Excellent service, great food. Took the entire family (12) for wife's 50th B-day and the Staff at El Capitan made the occasion a success. Will return for sure. Thank you again!

Family owned business. Very friendly and helpful staff. Less crowded than other places. Food was great and so was the sangría. A favorite among locals. Fresh seafood. Ask for the catch of the day!

At our hotel in Dorado, they recommended going to El Capitan for dinner. What a great choice. We went on a Thursday night...which is lobster night. The lobster as well as the red beans and rice were excellent. We had 1.5 pound lobsters for $22.50 each. Great deal, great food.

I am new to Dorado and am so excited to discover El Capitan. The seafood is so fresh, and the preparations are authentic PR-style. I visited with my husband on a Saturday night and it's a good thing we called ahead for a reservation. You may want to brush up a bit on your Spanish! Our waitress spoke a little... More

Good place for local fish dishes. Thursday nights are Lobster nights. It is Caribbean lobster, but it is done very well. Pay the extra 10 dollars and get it stuffed with local seafood. The service is very good and the sangria is outstanding.

This is a place for folks that want great local food and minimal tourist influence. It hac been a few years since last visited. Open from Thurs to Sun only. Thurs is still Losbter day, 1/2 price. Spiny lobster only. You will not see North American Lobster here. Ceviche is still as fresh and as good as before. Conch is... More

Upon our arrival at the Hyatt Hacienda Del Mar we asked for a recommendation for a nice lunch and James who helped us with check-in recommended El Capitan in downtown Dorado. I ordered a house salad, grilled chicken with a side of Mufongo - a Puerto Rican specialty made with mashed plantains - their version pretty heavy with garlic, but... More

It was a surprise to find a really nice place that served fresh seafood and that would not break my budget. Found it on trip advisor and were surprised on how good it was. The service and the prices were just good enough for my family of five. My husband and I had lobster, the oldest of my daughters had... More

There are not that many restaurants in Dorado, but if you are there and want to try the local food this is a good place to go. It is not a fancy place but you are there for the food which is very good. Plates are of considerable size so you might want to share. I had the mofongo with... More
