Cozy dining experience

A winning combination of great food, friendly service (with one exception noted below), and a relaxing patio ambiance with dim patio string lights and a very private atmosphere. We tried the conch pizza, shrimp with artichoke pizza and the Nutella dessert calzone- all of which were great! The only downside was the lady behind the bar was exceptionally rude when I asked to see a menu for the upstairs restaurant and the pizzeria so we could decide where to eat. Note: It’s one location (ground level and upstairs) with two different restaurants. We were just trying to decide which place we wanted to eat at. The rest of the staff and food experience made up for her rudeness and we would definitely go back!

Nice place to dine....

I had a craving for pizza for dinner, so I reviewed some of the restaurants that had pizza on their menu from the Dining Guide/Turks and Caicos. I chose Bella Luna Italian Restaurant. Bella Luna has two levels. The upstairs dining is for everything, but pizza. The pizza part of the restaurant is located downstairs. It's set in a garden like style surrounded by lush, beautiful palm trees. I ordered the pizza with meatballs. Before I ordered the pizza, I asked the waitress if the meatballs on the pizza were small. She replied not too small. Oh my, was I disappointed when my pizza came. I asked her what's this? I asked if this was the meatball pizza because it sure didn't look like meatballs. She said, yes. She said the meatballs are big so they slice them before they put them on the pizza. (I have had meatballs on pizza way back in Toronto where I am from, and the meatballs on the pizza were actually tiny, little meatballs on the pizza). These meatballs looked like cut up meatloaf. I actually didn't enjoy those meatballs on the pizza. It tasted more like meatloaf. So, I took off the so called meatballs and ate my pizza. The pizza itself was very good. Authentic tasting italian pizza. Although I was disappointed, I will visit Bella Luna again when in Provo.

Excellent Italian cuisines, very good service

Unable to climb the two flights of stairs because of disability, we asked to be served the fine dining menu in their street-level pizza restaurant. They were very accomodating and the service and food were excelent. Appetizers arrived swiftly and were very good. Main courses -- veal scallopine piccata and penne picchio pacchio were perfectly cooked and seasoned just right. Prices were very reasonable for Providenciales.

Disappointing

We were looking forward to some fantastic ceviche and a cocktail, however we were turned away without being seated. The host asked if we had a reservation in the half empty restaurant, we did not. The host said they had tables available but said you can order the complete menu and they have a full bar downstairs. This was NOT TRUE. It was a completely different menu. Do not spend your money here! I have never felt so unwanted in an establishment!!

Disappointed!!!

We were looking forward to this restaurant. 1. Couldn’t make a reservation- had to call day of. 2. We were met coldly when we arrived 3. Seated at a table in the corner where a huge post made it difficult to chat or share out meal 4. Told we were REQUIRED to order our entire meal and THEY would pace the meal for us ??? 5.Very little contact by server after our food was dropped and were were constantly as if “ we were done” when there was food still on our plates! 6. Food was both more than mediocre!!! NEVER going back and actually told a couple when we left to “ not bother” it was horrible

Great pizza and homemade pasta

We dined 3 times at Bella Luna during our 3 week stay on Provo. The main level of the restaurant is the pizzeria and serves the best pizza on the island. They have a few indoor tables in the bar area and the remainder of the pizzeria’s tables are located in a very nice outdoor seating area with palm trees and plantings all around them. The upstairs is the Italian restaurant that serves homemade pastas & sauces and other Italian entrees, which were all very good. The service was prompt and professional, the food arrived in a timely manner (which is not the case with all Provo restaurants) and was reasonably priced (relative to other Provo restaurants).

Beautiful restaurant, great food.

Bella Luna is a super quaint restaurant located on Grace Bay Road. From the outside it looks very European complete with a small entry way and metal gate-like door as the entrance. As you enter the restaurant you see two boards pointing you either towards the pizzeria (left) or towards the restaurant (right). Because of COVID and capacity limits, they were only seating guests outside in the pizzeria “section.” The overall vibe of the restaurant was very summery, like a rustic Italian garden. The tables were spaced apart, to give plenty of space for social distancing. Despite being located on a busy street, guests do not feel or hear the hustle bustle from outside because of the dense and lush plants. The entire restaurant smells of a wood burning oven, with all the herbs and spices used in Italian cooking. They have a visible vegetable garden, and use produce and herbs from their garden in their dishes. We ordered penne pasta with vodka sauce and eggplant parmigiana. Both dishes were delicious. We shared both dishes but did not feel stuffed. The portions were perfect. The penne was cooked al dente, just right! The eggplant had to be one of the best eggplant dishes we have had. It was cooked just right and literally melted in your mouth. It was not greasy, nor smothered with a disproportionate amount of cheese. For dessert we ordered Fondante al Cioccolato. It was small warm chocolate cake topped with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup. For some reason, the eggplant is not on their main menu but the server recommended it since we are vegetarian. However, when he provided the dessert menu, on the back of it the daily specials were written out (which includes the eggplant). The staff was very pleasant and polite. Their service was quick.

Average Italian . Conch pasta and shrimp scampi were good. My pasta was overcooked even though I asked for al dente pasta. Loved the chocolate mint martinis. Nothing special.

Very disappointing

We went to Bella Luna last night. On a trip where the restaurants have been generally quite good, if pricey, this place was remarkably below average and pricey. We ordered pasta, which was overcooked and obviously cooked in unsalted water. The was overcooked. Everything was really disappointing. Don’t make the same mistake we did. There are plenty of good restaurants on the island. This is not one of them.

Extremely lacking in flavor and sub-par service!

We really wanted to enjoy this meal as the ambiance is amazing, but everything from the service to the food was lacking. It took a long time to get our drinks and our waiter wouldn’t take our appetizer order before we placed our entire meal. When the food came it was extremely lacking in flavor. I returned my meal as it was nothing like I expected, basically chicken with tomato sauce ( Suprema Mille e una Notte). If you’ve had good Italian food, don’t waste your time or money going to Bella Luna!

Consistent but......

We have been going to Bella Lina for along time and enjoy the food for the most part. The bread and marinara sauce are excellent although I have to say being charged $6 for a second seems off putting. The mussels were tasty but overpriced for the amount you get. The same is true for the grilled shrimp dish. It’s a bit odd that you can’t substitute spaghetti for grilled vegetables without being charged an extra fee. My family enjoyed the pasta dishes very much. At the end of the day, Bella Luna is good if you want Pasta and Pizza.

We appreciate your business over the years and we have made some changes. With the pandemic we have half the workers in the kitchen and just can't do substitutions like we could be for. Our portion size has not changed and our prices have not been raised in over 4 years. I am glad you enjoyed the food and I am sorry that there were some things you were not happy with. Great pizza poor management

We frequent here every year and the pizza is always very good. Not many appetizers to choose from except salad. We had a large party and 2 of our friends got their pizzas 20 minutes late. When it finally arrived the order was wrong and staff were not willing to remove it from our tab (because we were going to eat it). We didn’t want to wait another 20 minutes for the correct pizza to be remade again. We also ordered a bottle of wine and a glass of wine was mistakenly brought out. I asked if I should keep it and I was told I could (found out I would be charged for it however if I drank it). So they took back the glass they gave me in error and likely dumped it or drank it. Service was good but management could be way better. We like Bella Luba for their food but management and service needs to be better.

Great pizza

Hubby and I shared a good salad and pizza dinner one evening. Cute, casual courtyard atmosphere, light crust on the pizza made it easy to devour a whole one with two of us, and service and food were quickly executed. This was a nice break from caribbean food flavors and fine dining. Would like to come back and try the Italian entrees in the other portion of the restaurant too.

Tried to make a reservation but was unsuccessful

As I'd read online that we should make our dinner reservations in advance, I tried calling multiple times to try to book a dinner reservation. I called around the end of June to book for the first week in August, and they said to call back in July. I called in July, and they said call the next week. I called the next week, and they told me to call back. I called a few days before we were supposed to fly out, and the lady seemed very irritated on the phone, but finally took my name and date. She cut me off mid-sentence when I tried to ask her what time, and hung up on me. So we didn't end up going here since I was doubtful she put our reservation in since we hadn't even discussed what time. Went to Baci instead, and was very pleased.

Excellent Italian Food, Nice Wine List and Quaint Atmosphere

Highly recommend! I was a skeptical of an Italian restaurant on a Caribbean Island but wow - it was very very authentic and fairly priced. Located on Grace Bay Road, we were able to walk from our hotel. We ordered the mussels in white wine lemon cream sauce, a seafood pasta also in a cream sauce and the pasta with spicy Italian sausage as well as an ice cream and chocolate brownie dessert. Service was good, staff was friendly and the owner a pleasure to talk to. We really enjoyed dining in the courtyard with the lush greenery, soft breeze and pretty white string lights. Don’t leave the island without a meal at Bella Luna!
