I have read the earlier reviews, and am wondering if they are talking about the same place. You see, having a proper cream tea has always been one of those things I have always wanted to have. I have been quite poorly, have difficulty walking, so rarely get out. But my son decided to treat me. Today was his day... More

We visited here after riding on the Brecon Mountain railway. There were some very harsh reviews of this place online so we were a bit wary. We arrived just as a group of twenty plus cadets were leaving but the lady serving apologised for the mess and processed our order promptly. We sat in the garden looking at the bird... More

beautiful tea rooms with amazing cream teas. Staff extremely friendly. Bathroom facilities are great with little extra touches like hairspray for the ladies. Slight criticism is that there is no baby changing facilities in the bathroom. Plenty of room to place a changing unit on the wall or in the room. Would be an advantage for families with small children/babies.... More

This was a revelation. The only problem was the mis-leading signs. The 2 miles turned out to be 5! It was worth the hunt. In the middle of nowhere, The Old Barn served exceptional food. The premises were also a surprise and unexpected. all the food was good and the cream tea, exceptional.

A must visit place when in the Talybont area, the cream tea with homemade scones and proper china cups with a tea strainer; real tea not tea bags and lovely surroundings. Watch the various types of birds on the garden feeder. The staff are most welcoming and nothing is too much trouble.

After spotting the signs and then following them for a million miles (we were hungry!in reality it was only 30 minutes but we had assumed it would be round the corner.) We had afternoon tea. It was a sunny day and very busy so we sat outside with the dog. On a wobbly table on gravel. Bit of a design... More

Stopped by on our way past on the off-chance that we might be able to get a bite to eat and that it would be dog friendly. Not disappointed on either score. Great tea and sandwiches and they made us feel welcome with our dog. Was quite busy but didn't have too long to wait. Menu is mainly sandwiches and... More
