Cocoplum Bistro by far has the best food on the island of Exuma. The French chef, Samuel, puts so much detail and thought into his meals. He also is so friendly and will come to speak with you to ensure you enjoyed your meal, you can tell he really cares about the customer and the quality of his food! I would say the restaurant is priced comparatively to all of the other places we visited on the island, however significantly better quality food. I highly recommend the conch fritters and cocoplum salad appetizers and the mahi mahi, snapper, or lobster for dinner! The rum cake was the best we had on the island. They also make great drinks, my favorite was the cucumber margarita! The staff is so friendly and by the end of the week felt like family. I highly recommend Cocoplum Bistro whether staying at the Paradise Bay Hotel or not!

This restaurant is just amazing. We have travellzd through bahamas from Nassaut to Harbour Island, Cat Island and finally discover this beautiful restaurant at Exumas Island. Near one of the beautifullest beach of all the bahamas this restaurant offers a lot of foods of great qualité. As french we were really disppointed to see the réal bad quality offered by restaurants at bahamas. At the cocoplum bistro we found the quality we use to have in great adresses from France. Even you take fish or méat it si perfect and prices are there less expensive. We have tested the Grand Îsle resort restaurant and it was not so good. We recommend warmely this adress. All team is very friendly we can mention Sterling and the managers Who were highly friendly.

Cocoplum bistro is a next level culinary experience. I usually do not expect much from hotel restaurants but this was above and beyond. Best quality food and most imaginative dishes you will find on Exuma. Samuel, the chef went out of his way to make a special birthday dinner for me on the beach. He arranged flowers, candles, and a tasting menu which did not disappoint. For lunch I loved the pulled pork tacos. Highly recommend !

Based on the reviews, I had been looking forward to dinner at Cocoplum Bistro. I was EXTREMELY disappointed, to put it mildly! The atmosphere was charming but the food and service were definitely sub-standard.  The menu is very limited, and the portions quite small. (I can rarely finish a restaurant meal and I was not even full.)  I ordered the steak, which was overcooked and tough. It was to be served with French fries, but I asked if I might substitute a salad. They served  a small pile of lettuce on the same warm plate as the overcooked steak!  No other side dishes or even bread were served with any of the meals. Never once did the server come by to check on our food or to see if we needed anything, though she was standing at the bar a good deal of the time. I did not want to make a scene, as we had a guest with us, so I did not stand up to track her down and complain, though I did express my displeasure when she cleared the plates.  The other two meals were mediocre at best. (Even the highly touted Lobster Thermador.)  The service, as I mentioned, was extremely slow- we waited at least 15 minutes for dessert and I had to walk up to the bar to even order it. (The lemon pie was good)  The topper of the evening was when the server brought our check, she told us there had been a power outage and we could not use a credit card. We were staying at the resort and had not noticed any power outage, and certainly not since arriving at the restaurant.  Yet no one had passed on this information prior to bringing the check.  Our guest had limited cash and it put quite a crimp on her resources.   When we checked out of the resort, we paid our bill and expressed to the chef our disappointment with the meal and the service.  He made no adjustment nor any kind of compensatory gesture. Very poor customer relations as well.

We are sincerely sorry that your visit to us was not up to your expectations. We have a menu with a total of 11 different main courses. It is true that we do not have 50 dishes. But all our products are homemade, I mean ALL, sauces, tapas, starters, main courses and desserts. We are very sorry that your steak was overcooked. As we told you when you left, if you had asked us to change it, we would have done so without any problem. You didn't tell us, so we didn't know that it wasn't to your liking. In your comment, you say that we didn't even give you bread with your dish, the reason is simple, there is simply no bread on the island. I am French, as you can imagine, I would prefer to serve bread with my dishes, but it is simply impossible here. Regarding the payment by credit card, it's true that we depend on the island's internet network which comes and goes as it pleases. There may not have been a power outage tonight, but simply no internet. We are very sorry about this, but please believe that we have no interest in not accepting the blue card. This is also a problem for us when it happens. So it is out of our control. Lastly, I don't understand why you tell me that I didn't make a compensatory gesture? I offered you your steak as soon as you told me you didn't like it. If you add up all your tickets and compare them to the amount you paid, you can see that I did not charge you for your steak. So please change that part in your comment. I thank you in advance for your understanding and please believe that we do our best to satisfy our customers and that we do our job with love and passion.

We were staying in at paradise bay and as such Cocoplum was our first stop for food. It has few tables inside, so if you are worried about being seated on time, its better to reserve early on. We were seated promptly the night we had dinner. We ordered couple of their cocktails that were decent, nothing out of ordinary impressive. For our appetizer we ordered conch fritters and loved it. For dinner we ordered the grilled snapper, chicken Colombo, tuna bowl and a kid's meal of fish fry. We all enjoyed our meals and my snapper was really well grilled with a great smoky char and perfect seasoning to it. The potatoes with it were very good as well. Everybody enjoyed their meal. Also point to note is the meal came out in reasonable time, considering anywhere you go in Exuma meals take an hour or more to come to your table. Another night we did a take out of their pulled pork burgers, it was tasty. We however had asked couple times for ketchup to be packed, which they ensured was in our boxes, but there were none when we opened our packs. Also like every restaurant here, they tag 15% gratuity to your bill. The most disappointing meal however was the breakfast buffet - its $15 for adult or child and the buffet is never filled timely. Either its out of pancakes or bacon or if the food is available they are out of clean plates. If you do find plates, there might be no cups for coffee/tea and silverware. If you want fruits, you might have to ask and then keep waiting for ever for it. It was quite chaotic, the 2 mornings we tried breakfast here, where most of your time is spent waiting,. If you are willing to wait for each item for 15-20 mins, then its worth going for breakfast and spending $60 + gratuity for a family of 4.

We ate at this restaurant several times during our stay in Exuma and this place definitely our favorite. It is the perfect place to enjoy the beauty of the landscape over a drink and a tasty meal. The food was particularly delicious, the dishes very hearty and affordable, all with a great welcome and service. We greatly appreciated the Beach Bar, very well decorated and comfortable, where we could enjoy delicious cocktails and appetizers in a beautiful and cosy setting (the view is also amazing). Everything was really perfect! We are already looking forward to going back!

My husband and I had a delicious meal while enjoying the ocean view. The Assortment of Tapas was a great way to taste a few delicious items. The crispy bananas rolls were amazing!! I had the Tuna Tataki Bowl  - full of fresh mango, avocado and tuna. My husband had the Chicken Colombo beautifully cooked in coconut milk. We even splurged on dessert & the strawberry ice cream was delicious! Melissa was a fantastic waitress and gave us excellent service with a smile!

We came here on the last night on Exuma island on our honeymoon. We didn’t reserve a table but we were lucky enough to get one once we arrived. It’s a beautiful little beach hut which can accommodate about about 10 groups ranging between 2/6. Our server was a pleasant man but seemed slightly rushed off his feet as there were only two members of staff serving. We ordered a bottle of rosé, the salad to start, lobster Thermidor and the sautéed snapper fish. Our salad never arrived but the lobster and fish was simply delicious. Portions were ample and it left us very satisfied - which is why we didn’t care so much that the salad had been forgotten. We did want to order pudding but the service was so slow did we didn’t bother to in the end. Trying to pay the bill also took an incredibly long time and the card machine was broken so please make sure you bring cash just in case. A really lovely little restaurant with great quality food - overrides the other issues which is why it’s still 5 stars.

We had a delicious dinner with my family last Sunday. I took the Lobster Thermidor, my wife and my son took a salad, Bahamian tapas and a burger. This restaurant was recommended to us by a friend from Miami who stayed there before and loved the restaurant. Each meal is well prepared with style and taste. We also had nice French wine for affordable price ( $50 a bottle). The restaurant is managed by a young but talented French chef arrived a few month ago. We had a great dinner and came back the following day for lunch. Everything was freshly prepared (cocktails, poke bowl, tacos and salad) and cooked with Bahamian little secret sauce. The sea view from the restaurant is stunning. The cottage hotel is well designed. You just feel well there! I recommend this place, the restaurant and its new resident chef !

While visiting Exuma for the second year, the memories made at the Cocoplum Bistro at Paradise Bay Resort are by far at the top of my list. Not only is the breakfast, lunch, and dinner absolutely DELICIOUS, but the drinks are superb too (I reccomend the Gombay Smash or their extensive wine list). The banana Nutella pancakes with nuts and whipped cream became my go-to for breakfast, their Ceviche went above and beyond for lunch (the best I've ever had), and their steak and lobster dishes for dinner were the perfect way to top off the night! Most importantly, the friendly, personable, and fun staff were what MADE this restaurant. They truly care about your experience and make the effort to put in the extra time to get to know you. Even after hours, Chef Sam, his girlfriend Solenne, and Sterling would hang out with us late into the night to chat, dance, and exchange stories/info about our different cultures. I've stayed at many resorts in my life, and I've never had such an amazing, personable experience with the staff before. I 12/10 recommend coming to eat here, and stay at the resort, which is on the best beach in the Exumas! Overall, an unforgettable experience.

This is a small restaurants (seats about 25), and we really enjoyed its previous ownership (La Fourchette) on another visit. When we saw it was open, we quickly stopped in. We were seated right after a party of 8, and it took an hour for our appetizer to arrive at our table, then another hour for our main course. (We were offered a glass of wine to make up for the wait.) The food was tasty, but nothing special (as it had been in the past). Finally, we were advised that their credit card machine was not working -- but I could see that the larger party had split their check and charged it shortly before we were ready to leave (but after we were told it was not working). The final straw when we presented cash was that they could not make change! It could have all been coincidence, but felt very much like a rip-off. We plan to return to Exuma, but not to this restaurant!

We are very sorry that you did not enjoy your experience with us. Indeed, the waiting time you report is too long, I assure you that it is exceptional. As for the payment, we also apologize for that. We are on an island and the network comes and goes. And concerning the payment in cash, we have a lot of tourists who only have 100$ bills, we try to have a maximum of exchange but it is true that it happens some evenings, at the end of the evening, that we do not have enough and that's why we also accept Venmo. But NO, this restaurant is not a rip-off... We are very sad to read this. Again, I understand that the accumulation of all these small problems is too much and we are very sorry. I hope you will come back to us so we can prove to you that this was just an isolated case. Thank you for your feedback. Sincerely, Samuel

Do not come to Exuma unless you have plans to eat at this amazing restaurant. Ate here three years ago when it was called, "La Fourchette" and we were blown away then. Ate lunch there on this trip and everyone was so impressed we immediately made dinner reservations for another night. The food is insanely good. So, so delicious. The servers are so nice and you can walk around and enjoy the beach, the scenery, the pool... our favorite place to eat on the island!

We were staying at Paradise Bay on site and the CocoPlum Bistro was very convenient on days we stayed and enjoyed the clear water and private beach with perfect white sand. The staff was so friendly and kind. We really enjoyed Deesha and Dani they were great hostesses and waitresses. So kind and welcoming. Gave great advice on the island and where to go. The food was good, no complaints, everything we ate tasted amazing. Really enjoyed the burgers and pulled pork items including the poke bowls! You have to make reservations for dinner with them. They do have a credit card machine but always have cash with you in case it goes down. Sometimes they ran out of certain items to eat or drink but it was okay, they had other items on the menu that were good. The only thing I recommend is wear lots of bug spray and bug cream you will need it! At all times. Cute small little bistro but food was yummy! And not bad for cost compared to other locations. Love all the staff they were amazing! ❤️

We eat at the CPB every year while we are on Exuma. It never disappoints. The menu has continued to evolve and add seafood dishes that are not just fish and chips and conch options. I had a tuna tataki bowl that was really good and light, but filling. Family members had the grilled lobster, chicken nuggets, snapper, and special of the day. We all had fritters to start. The snapper is a repeat order for us. The service is nice, the restaurant easy and casual. A repeat visit will be happening.

We hosted a private birthday celebration event for 37 people in December 2022. We had contacted the restaurant back in July 2022 to make arrangements. We were offered to do the event on the beach in a private area that would be closed off for our group. The team at the restaurant worked with us to create a menu that took into consideration all the dietary restrictions that we had. Fast forward to December 2022, we had finalized the menu. This was the first night of a week-long birthday celebration and our guests had arrived that day. We arrived at the restaurant and were mesmerized by the setup. There were banquet tables and chairs, a bonfire, a beachside fully stocked bar with a bar tender, beach games and lounge chairs setup. Lighting was also setup as well. The drinks were amazing, the bartender and service was amazing. But the food was the real winner. The menu had several options on it and each one tasted like it was made to order and not like most catering food tastes like. We met the owner and the chef, and you could tell that they treated this not as a catering event but as individual orders. The food was light, fresh and absolutely amazing. This restaurant was the beginning of a great week of celebration, and it set a very high bar for everything that followed.
