We had heard marvellous reviews about the food at this pub. We arrived Saturday 13th May at 2.45 to be told the food was finished until 6 o'clock. I had double checked that food was available all day at the weekends. No apology was given....More

Called for lunch when walking. Salt and pepper squid to start, duck breast with oriental vegetables for main and fruit crumble for dessert. It was all fantastic, the service was friendly and accommodating and all in a lovely old pub. It's only fault is that...More

I've always liked this pub even through its darker times but yesterday was probably my best experience. I like to offer constructive criticism if it's warranted but on this occasion none was. The menu was reasonably varied but well constructed and from what I saw...More

Stopped for a pint on my way back home. Sat outside and the area was clean and very welcoming. Would gladly go back to try their food.

Arrived later in the afternoon having been to two previous pubs and been told they stopped serving at 2.30. Very friendly bar staff, nothing was a problem, kids had child portions of Burger & chips and Fish and chips. Plenty of food for our 5&6...More

Only twice in many years have I been sufficiently motivated by a venue to write a review, once for a beautiful parisian garret and now for the Blackboys Inn. Both the inn itself and the accommodation are faultless in design and presentation. The food is...More

Had a roast dinner here not too long ago and it was fantastic. The current owners have really turned the place around from the last owners who took the Blackboys from a high end pub to a pretentious one. The current proprietors are doing an...More

I and others in our party had the prawn and lobster burger. It was disappointing, more like a fish cake than a burger and did not taste of fish at all. Could have been a veggie burger!

Exceptionally good food and customer service. The staff were very attentive. It was very good value for money for the quality of food. £100 for 4 people 2 courses, drink and tip. Very happy.

Good morning Tracey, Blackboys is a very small village with just a pub, school and local cafe. We are a 10 minute car journey away from Uckfield which is a town with shops, restaurants and pubs. Hope this helps.
