Since my last review, we've visited twice more, with different members of the family. Both times we've enjoyed excellent meals. The restaurant is very popular with local people, but also with visitors from the UK, Belgium, and Holland. In fact, it's getting so popular that I would recommend making a reservation if you're a party of more than two. As... More

When we turned up on a Saturday night without reservation the small downstairs area was full. The very friendly waitress opened up the upstairs seating area and made us feel very welcome. We ate a la carte. Starters were reasonably priced and not too big nor to small - a plate of brown shrimps and crab. For our main courses... More

The service was slow and rather unfriendly. We asked for a fish soup which was so-so and le menu du jour. The fish was completely tasteless and fried in old oil. The accompanying salad consisted of two leaves of lettuce... When we asked for the bill they charged us for coffee that was supposed to be included in menu du... More

Such a shame that this quaint little restaurant is serviced by such surly staff,it really spoilt what should have been a pleasant last night of our holiday, and so unnecessary. The food was ok,however they must get a good deal on the mussels as they were all so tiny, and all I can think of is that when caught they must be... More

Good place for our last meal of the holiday especially as I always go for moules frites if I am leaving France! Food was great but the service a little impersonal perhaps because they were so busy. The fish was excellent and so beautifully cooked and my wife really loved it. We will return!

This place serves various types of mussels with french fries for unbeateable prices! Also the fish of the day is excellent! The fisherman lives just on the other side of the door...so the freshness is guaranteed...Nicely decorated, suitable for special occassions, or just for a Sunday lunch with a family. Very praised by locals, need to reserve well in advance.... More

This is beautiful. It's in a small village between Boulogne and Calais, but feels a world away. Family run, extremely friendly and rustic, it is clearly a local favourite, and there is always a pleasant feeling not to be handed a menu with an English translation. The food was excellent. It is no frills, hearty chunks of meat or fish... More

With most places in the area closed for Christmas we came across Le Vent du Nord by accident. A pure slice of what a French lunch should be. No one else in the family run restaurant was english, which was great! We had the fois gras, to start and then I had the mussels and my friend had the fillet... More
