German pancakes, lobster, grouper fingers, burgers all amazing!! The restaurant is very clean and well staffed with very attentive folks. Food was always delicious including the pizza they delivered to our house and the sandwich's that were made for our eco tour! Would highly recommend.

Stella Maris is a small community on Ling Island, Bahamas. The resort is an old style, quaint establishment. The food and service are very good. Highly recommend it.

We stayed at Stella Maris while our home is being renovated. I had eaten at the resort a few years ago and was a bit disappointed. This time, we never had a bad meal. The staff was very attentive. Excited that our home is located nearby so that we can eat there often!

Nice spot, I was not impressed by the food. The surroundings was good. There is not a lot of fresh food on the island and a lot of is frozen.

Casual and relaxed with lots of choices but the fresh fish, grouper was delicious. Home made fresh rolls and a wonderful bar for both before and after dinner. Service is quick and fun to connect with the other guests.

The restaurant is beautiful inside, very tropical feel. Food was delicious, the specials had a local flare while the main menu was geared more tourists. Friendly staff makes you feel at home!

We didn't stay at the Stella maris but we were close and decided to eat dinner. The kids menu was bigger than the adult. It was a bit slow on the food service. We had a burger, chicken fingers, pasta, and Caesar salad with chicken. It took about an hour to get our food. Not sure what took so long. They also only serve dinner at 7:30. I won't return. They do have the option to order pizza and pick it up which we may try.

In doing research for our Nov 2016 trip to Long Island, our choices for accommodation were Stella Maris and Cape Santa Maria. Having chosen the latter we made plans to visit SM for breakfast and to see for ourselves what this side of the island was like.
Great taxi service was provided by Schofield, he even waited for us while we ate and toured around. We were greeted warmly when we entered the Clubhouse, then waited on hand and foot by our friendly waitress (Schofield's granddaughter), and what a feast of food! For $18 each a large assortment of food was included, hot (made to order omeletes and pancakes, etc) and cold (juice, yogurt, fruit, etc). Everything was delicious!
Then we set out on foot to do a little explore of the resort, which is more a community with buildings spread throughout. Great walking opportunities, nice landscaping, lots of palm trees and flowers abound. Making our way to the Moonshine Bar, the views of the Atlantic were impressive. Walking the boardwalk alongside the ocean, we were aware of its presence, the waves crashing against the rugged coastline. Magnificent!! The pools are a great option, as lazy floatabouts would not be happening here, at least on the day we were there.
The two resorts are total opposites, and while they would provide different vacation experiences, each of them shine in their own way. Maybe next time......

My sister & brother in law have an out island home at Stella Maris, so I've never stayed there, but the location is rustic and beautiful. The food here is reliable and good. The service is friendly and accommodating. This is one of our reliable choices for dinners while we are staying in Long Island. The conch fritters here are usually always excellent - lots of conch and light!

Love it here. Staying in Salt Pond miles away always make a trip or two for some nice food a beer or 3 and maybe a swim. Bar staff especially the chap who has been here for ages are so friendly and you can play pool for free. Thalking of pool you can also have a dip in the pool as a non resident if you are using the bar. Lovely terrace overlooking the pool and lawns and coconut trees - has a very colonial atmosphere which we like. The resort is scattered over many acres and has lots of interesting mainly low rise accommodations. A short walk atlantic side will take you to a nice path along the dramatic coast with the sea water tidal swimming pool.
Bar food is great by the way - Club Sandwich is great.

The food here was very good. My kids loved the burgers and cracked chicken. The mixed drinks were really good as well and didn't have the mix from a bottle taste. They seemed really fresh. It's a little on the high end price wise and the food takes a bit to get out to you. Visit the pool or playground while you wait.

We love to eat at the Stella Maris Resort. The food will amaze you as to how good it is. It's pricey, but I can assure you that it will be a delicious meal. The entire staff at the resort is wonderful as well.

We went here for a birthday dinner, the food was quite good and the service adequate. They lost a star because of a request I made two days before for a gluten-free desert which was made to the front desk with the person going back to the kitchen to talk to the chief. No desert and thew chief said he never got the request. If I am paying top dollar for a meal, I expect the chief to have staff that will not lose a request.

We were staying at Cape Santa Maria and decided to try Stella Maris for dinner. The food was good, not superb and the service was adequate, not great. I found the atmosphere to be a bit stuffy with no island feel at all (I could have been in Cleveland).
