We loved the food and service at this place . We had chicken wraps with salad - freshly made and delicious washed down with couple of cold beers ! Also it was reasonably priced . We will be back .

The food is delicious and the crowd is a blast - especially on Friday nights with the Rake 'n Scrape band.
I am happy to say that the third time we went, we could hear ourselves talk. The first two times, we could only nod and smile at one another because it was so loud. Obviously, we liked it enough to keep going back. Fun dancing, people watching and local food. Beer and wine only. No hard liquor/mixed drinks.

We tried to eat lunch here one day, but the staff had gone elsewhere. We really wanted to try their grouper fingers, so we made the trek back another day. The grouper fingers looked and tasted like fish sticks and we were very disappointed. Staff person was friendly and attentive, but food did not live up to reviews.

Hardly anything on the menu was available due to it being Tuesday, the day before the weekly mailboat. While that was understandable, it certainly was one of many factors that made our experience less than desirable. No toilet paper (when we asked, the server said "let me make a call"); when we asked for napkins, she handed us a full roll of paper towels still wrapped in plastic; no beer; no soap in the bathroom (how does the cook wash his/her hands?). It's hard to believe we visited the same establishment as the one reviewed on this page. Doubt we will give it another chance, sadly.

Green Leaf Bar and Restaurant was the first place we stopped for a couple of ice cold refreshing Kalik beers. We ended up there 2 more times before we left the island. We hit it off immediately with our host Chef Gregory Bowes, a charming, informative and interesting man. Did I mention also a truly marvelous cook? The man knows his way around the kitchen and treated us with some beautiful conch salad on one visit. His food is fast, filling and superb. Definitely find your way to this gem of Long Island! We will long remember this gracious man and great place.

The Green Leaf opened some years ago to great fanfare, but I admit that I hadn't tried its fare until we decided to go there for a night out last Saturday. It turned out to be one of the best restaurant meals we've had on Long Island.
The Green Leaf has a lovely indoor-outdoor setting; privacy is maintained with a green mesh that shades patrons from the sun and nearby road. The restaurant hosts a dance on Saturday nights, and is taken down to open up a dance area.
Food is top-notch and not unreasonably priced. While peas-and-rice (the classic side) weren't top-notch, nearly everything else was, and the grouper was moist, tender, and delicious.
The bar seems well-stocked and is attractive -- I'd have had no problem sitting there if one of their lovely tables had been full.
We visited the Green Leaf for supper, but it's open for lunch as well, and is an excellent option for those seeking a good meal in Bunches.
