Booked a table in the restaurant but they had no record of this when we arrived. Very busy, waited 30 mins for drinks, a further 45 to order the food despite being given a menu . Finally got main course an hour and a three...quarters after arrival. Food balanced on six inch plank and it all fell off onto the table. Burger was lumps of meat which also fell off the plank. We could hear the people on the next table making similar comments. At no time were we asked if everything was ok or given an apology for time waiting. Not a good experience. Will not be returning.More

On a arrival we were asked for our drinks order. As soon as we got our drinks they asked us if we wanted to order food . I asked if we could have 5 minutes. 20 minutes later we had to try and attract the...waitresses attention. Eventually we ordered food . Only one starter which came quite quickly. 1 hour and 10 minutes later we had to ask the manager and then the waitress, where our food was . It came out straight away. The food was disgusting. Yorkshire puddings we’re cold , the chicken was tough and the freshly cooked succulent roast beef had been sat in a fridge for at least a week. It tasted like Birdseye frozen beef. They had left soggy menus and empty glasses on the end of our table. We were all saying how bad everything was , so I moved the glasses onto an empty table when a man on another table shouted what an ars…. turned to him and said what has it got to do with you. He was obnoxious and threatening to take me outside. I told him too shut up and wind his neck in . Which he did. The waiter come manager came over and asked what the problem was . We explained everything. He said sorry and proceeded to give us a bill for £94 . No further apology. Would not recommend this place to anyoneMore

We were ignored at the reception desk even though they not busy waited 3/4 hour for food when it came NOT value for money!!! Not that hot my husband had wafer thin beef, mine in chunks the Yorkshire pudding were sub standard French beans not...topped n tailed. No serving spoons .ask where the horse radish sauce was, she said it was parsnip puree, I said there's none on my plate she more or less called me a liar it was under my beef.i didn't have any on my plate n neither did my husband. Won't be going back!!! Ann WoodheadMore

Obviously gone a bit “ upmarket “ , the service and surroundings were good food tasty although I feel the portion sizes served at the table for Sunday dinner were on the small side , the biggest complaint no custard with the sweets ! Apple...pie and cream , never 😉More

1 star is very generous. We’ve visited the Crown on a regular basis on and off over the 10 years when visiting family. I’ve never been so disappointed as our latest visit. Drinks: San Miguel was flat, tasted off, replaced by the bar staff and...still tasted awful. On our last visit just for drinks they had sold out of Moretti and didn’t have any hand pulled bitter. Food:, Crown Burger £13 ish…. Dry burger, tiny amount of pulled pork, burnt brioche, 1 x tiny bit of lettuce. Pizza had sold out… The barman was friendly enough when we complained about the drink, the young lady on the front of house was too busy talking to some locals acknowledge us twice on too separate occasions when wanting more drinks. The mens toilets stank of urine and the sink was scruffy. The ladies had no toilet roll or soap.More

We decided to try this pub for a change fromt the norm and it didn't let us down. Friendly staff from the off and then the meal was just absolutely beautiful. We both had the steak and ale pie with cjunky chips ,mushy peas and...gravy. Let me tell you the steak and ale pie is to die for and the pastry is so nice never mind all those chunks of steak in there. Had a portion of onion rings as well and they were just as good. Desert was raspberry cheesecake and tasted beyond anything else I've had cheesecake wise Also had a few pint of there cask ale and this went down great. What more could you ask, great food good atmosphere and very attentive staff in a great little village.More

Pub is decorated well inside, nice atmosphere, friendly staff and music playing. Party only had mains, but they were great and the chefs special looked incredible. Similar pricing, if not just a bit more expensive than other nearby pubs/restaurants but quality is much better, worth...the extra few quid as a party. Looking forward to going back and trying more of the food.More

The carvery on Sunday only 12 -4pm. Very good , plenty of meat and then help yourself to a good variety of veg. Does get very busy and advisable to book. Think its £9 one course.
