I know that this is a pub in a tourist-heavy spot, but that does not excuse rude and brusque service and passable food at extortionate prices! Three measly scallops for £18!!?? Burger was thin and bun dry... chips were fine, but we were shocked at...More

We decided to pop out for a spot of supper and tried the Red Lion. Service was shocking, Staff disinterested and rude. For so many staff on they were more interested in going on a fag break! When the food turned up it was very...More

Popular because of it's location near the river in this attractive village. Not surprisingly on a warm, sunny Sunday lunchtime all the outside tables were occupied but were given a table in the airy and pleasant dining room. The menu is not extensive but the...More

We booked a table well in advance for 12 for a Sunday lunch, 9 of the 12 in the party had a set Sunday roast so you would think it was a relatively easy order to prepare 1 hour and forty minutes later we got...More

Good food and drinks menus. Friendly service, a little slow but food was well worth waiting for and freshly cooked. Nice location and large garden at rear of the pub. Scenic village used for the tv series, and the home of Rupert Brooke.
