The Red Lion was recommended by friends who live in the Cambridge Area. So we were looking forward to a new gastronomic experience. We declined starters and went straight for the mains the 25 minutes wait did not deter as we had plenty to talk about. But when three mains arrived and the forth took another six minutes to come... We popped in this afternoon for some spring alfresco dining with our little dog. They couldn't have got this place more right, met some lovely people while we were there, blossom was blooming and the burgers did not disappoint. Spoke all the way back to Stamford about how great the Red Lion was, we'll be back 🙌🏻

Nice surroundings. Comfortable. Good welcome. Red quinoa and asparagus salad very tasty, but very skimpy on the asparagus! Lemon and pistachio sponge too dry to eat, presented strangely in little bits (cut offs?) with huge slab of marshmallow. Ice cream very nice though. Now the bad bit: Ladies' toilets too disgusting to use. No paper in any cubicle, one with... More

Visited with friends on an evening. had not booked so ate in bar area. Average menu at average prices for Cambridgeshire. There of the group had chicken breast which they said was lovely, my Vegetarian Wellington was excellent. Why then not excellent. Drink prices are high and do not justify that fact. Staff are young but only person who ignored... More

Back of the pub gives access to a path over a river and it is a lovely surprise! The pub staff are very welcoming, it is a friendly atmosphere and the soup was homey and excellent.

... shame about the food. Went for a quick lunch with a just-landed American friend. Saturday on the first real spring day in Cambridge. Lucky to get parking, lucky to get a table. I ordered seared tuna with marinated vegetable bits and a side of chips at a cost of about 18 quid. The chips didn't materialize and half of... More

Book, Book, Book! This Pub and restaurant is so good that there is never a quiet time. The staff our friendly and knowledgeable and the bar has a good selection of beers and wines. The food was lovely. We had a traditional Sunday lunch and very much enjoyed it. They excelled with their liquor coffee. For a perfect English Sunday... More

We were a group of 12 and we couldn't have been treated any better! Heidi was amazing throughout and the food and service were superb! No note pads, just good old fashioned memory and everything was perfect! The food and drink was great value and the pub itself had so much character! Well worth the trip from London! We will... The attention to detail and service at our event led by Luca and the team on the night was really great. He was always on hand, friendly and super efficient. It made the day's events and evening party run very smoothly. The pub generally were keen to oblige and offer exactly what we needed for this bespoke event. I'd highly... More
