This pub has an envious location at the end of a lane and near the canal, though you can't actually sit out and see it. The staff were instantly friendly and we ordered at the bar and found a table in the back garden. The...More

Was walking along the canal with my sister and dogs and we popped into the Boat Inn. Had an amazing lunch in the garden. The staff were all really friendly and they couldn't do enough for us. I particularly liked the summer fruits eton mess.

After a long walk with Shep & Pepsi (dogs) we happened along The Boat Inn set on the banks of the Oxford Canal. This beautiful old pub was often used in the inspector Morse series and there are various memorabilia on the walls of the...More

We avoided at all costs and put the throttle down.. Greene King tenanted pub with the support of its regional management that suggests 'what stays in the pub, stays waiting in the kitchen for two hours'. We found that drinking cheap French beer on the...More

As if we didn't already know!! TripAdvisor publishes reviews from people who have never set foot in the pub. What makes this one different is that they say it in the review! The credibility of this forum has always been questionable but now we have...More

The pub looks great, the starters were average but the mains were terrible. We met a friend who had succulent chicken and chorizo sounded good but tough chicken, then there was the ploughmans pickled onion and pickled egg tasted like they had sat in brine...More

We were hesitant to visit having read some of the reviews but weren't disappointed. The service was efficient on a busy sunny evening, The mixed grill was superb and onion rings were offered without hesitation as an alternative to mushrooms & tomatoes without asking. The...More

Our Aussie daughter, husband and family are looking for a family pub with some outdoor space to meet up with friends for lunch. Do you have a children's play area? Is there a room inside which could be used if the weather is bad in September? Thanks for your help. Lindsay.
