Only westerners in the cafe and the wait staff seemed annoyed by this. The atmosphere was charming but done in a way to serve westerners. Did not have a Malay charm about it. Customer service was not friendly upon entry, order or at table service....They don’t bother removing the dishes from the tray and drop the tray harshly on the table. The food was terrible. I had a strawberry scone and apple pie. Both were cold, stale, tasteless, dry and crumbly I could barely keep it on the fork. I’m unsure how this place has so many high reviews. If you want good scones, walk 20min north towards the strawberry farms where there are 5-6 restaurants serving a dozen different flavoured scones and other varied treats, at epic proportions and cheap prices.More

We love the scones and cakes at Lord's cafe. A very cosy and peaceful cafe. Recommended to pay a visit when you are at Cameron.

It was an amazing dine in experience. Staff were friendly. The cafe was quiet and tranquil. I enjoyed the tranquility so much. The air was clean, the environment was very peaceful. Food was good and amazing. The scones are recommended. They’re yummy and the price...is affordable!More

Nice place to have tea and some small bites like scones or apple pie. Fairly inexpensive too. We strangely got asked to move tables though to a smaller one, just in case a larger group came in, even though it was 4:30pm and it closes...at 5:00. The setting appears to be an old church style building with some religious quotes and books. All in all, worthwhile going.More

Normal atmosphere, normal food, nothing is fantastic even for its most popular "scones"...Staff is not very friendly and we didn't feel any of their hospitality...First thing was asking about money "pay now pay now".... Lousy food serving system...We sat at the table right in front...the food collection table, still the staff does not bother to walk a few more steps to bring the food to our table, just dump the food right at the table in front of us...Don't think it is worth the time purposely go there to have scones...overly rated...More

Hyped place. Queued 1h+, expectations were high. Upside:prices are low. Downsides:you enter cafe.. No smell of freshly baked cakes, bread or freshly brewed coffee.... Waitress dirigates you to your place with a charm of a nun in a Catholic boarding school where you are the...pupil. Ok let's start with the cones. Not homemade, dry, not buttery. Industrial chickenpie without flavour. Banana chocolate cake was moist but no pleasant taste. Omelette no flavour. Apple pie with vanilla ice cream was decent whereas the ice cream was very little. Drinks Ok(coffee, juices) but not memorable. All in all not advisableMore

Visited here because reviews were good. It was ok. We had scones which were ok but had better and the cream was not real cream. Not sure I would recommend the effort of going, especially as it’s not always open as they close when they...have run out of scones.More

We ve visited The Lord s Cafe multiple times in the beginning of our stay in Tanah Rata in February 2020 and really enjoyed the old fashioned charme and the really decent scones. While we have been to cooler, fancier and more modern places or...better service (quality of service here is really mixed), this simple, busy, slightly shabby and at times really hectic church cafe nevertheless seemed like a good, unpretentious place for spending rainy hours while chatting over a cup of tea or coffe and some scones.More

I came here with my family in 2020 after interstate travel was allowed again. We came at 10.02am, since the place opened at 10am. We used to come here around 10 years ago and this was our first time in many years. Stepping into the...restaurant after heading up a few flights of stairs, an old-timey nostalgic decorated place greeted us. Reminded me of grandparents' places with rattan chairs, huge windows with great lighting and old books in wooden shelves. The system here is self-service, where you have to write your order on a piece of paper with the table number on it and send it to the counter and make payment then and there. We ordered scones, the chicken pie, apple pie, hash browns and egg sandwich. For drinks we had hot cocoa and tea. Maybe we are just used to simple food and appreciate the effort put in by the staff, which is why I think the bad reviews are exaggerated. The scones were okay, crumbly compared to some I had tried before and served with butter, cream and jam. The chicken pie was average, the hash brown had a twist to it as it wasn't the usual supermarket frozen type I was expecting. This one seemed to be homemade. The egg sandwich is kind of like what I would throw together at home before heading out the door - very simple but tastes like home. Hot cocoa was pretty rich in my opinion. The prices are super cheap, ranging between RM2 - RM5 for the items on the menu. Overall, what you get is what you paid for. We had no complaints as we have eaten far worse food than this. The decor is acceptable and considered different from other restaurants nowadays. If you are picky about where you eat your food and prefer a modern, super clean and new place, this is not for you. The place could use some regular upkeep though. Overall it felt like Malaysian childhood days kinda atmosphere, where nothing is fancy and you made do with what you have, and was happy with it. I was looking forward to ordering the spaghetti here as I had it years ago when I was a child. There used to be a Caucasian man who worked here but not sure if he still is anymore. Unfortunately the spaghetti was taken off the menu but I was content with what we had for breakfast that day.More

What this place has going for it ate the prices. They aren’t as inflated as other places. The scones were fine. They had whipped cream, butter and jam with them. I think perhaps a few years ago it was quite quaint and nice. Now the...place seems dated and what once was seen as charming now seems like it’s a bit uncared for. We waited on the steps for about 20 minutes before being let in. Once in, everything is self-service. I’m sure it wouldn’t be difficult to restore the charm and friendliness. But for now, its not bad, just not great.More

Im not crazy over scones so i will not comment on them. Tried the chicken pie - dry and tasteless. Served with just the pie, no side dishes or any effort to even serve them with gravy. Dont see the fuss and all the type.

The overall experience starting from being seated by a rude hostess, to the tacky decor, to the most uncomfortable chairs, to the food quality and service was all poor. I went to this place after reading reviews that talked about the great scones. The scones...are cheap but so is the taste which matches the price. The scones were dense and fell apart and even the jam to accompany it was not natural but full of preservatives. The egg sandwich had 2 blobs of egg which was held together with some wilted lettuce and cucumber. The hash browns were more of a mash brown and tasteless. If you're looking for a place where you can pay an average of RM 3 for a dish but no flavour and taste ..then this is the place for you. You pay for what you get!! I had to write this review so that people would not waste their precious time standing in a long line up for 30-45mins for such a bad experience.More

It would be best to contact the restaurant directly. They do serve canned beer.
