We made Barracks our first meal when we arrived in Cameron Highlands and we could not have been happier! Their chicken curry was flavorful, spicy (doesn't need to be thou) and the perfect start to our Cameron Adventure! The Chicken Masala was also a wiener with our group. The staff was super friendly and attentive and the manager spent 30... More

The nearest scones & tea from our stay, Heritage Hotel. We had their strawberry & coconut scones, tea and also tried the breadbowl soup. Everything was delightful and the people there are also friendly.

We'd had food but hubby wanted black coffee so we stopped at this café because it's on our way to Heritage Hotel (where we're staying, but don't recommend!). He orders a scone and a black coffee and both were good. The bill totales 8.6 MR. The decor is nice with parasols on tables and plants, trees and flowers all around.... More

We were at the Barrack's at a weird time, between lunch and tea time, so we were the only guests there. I had an incredibly delicious scone and my boyfriend had the vegetarian curry bread bowl which was excellent as well. Since nobody else was around, the chef Elaine hung out with us for a while, we had a really... More

We had dinner at Barracks. The food was quite good end the service excellent. We had also a "free tour" of the garden with full explanation of what the plants were, how they grow and so on... well appreciated!

Not nad meal here but nothing to shout about. Nice setting and the staff were friendly but would explore other options as the two dishes we had were a bit bland and boring, plus it's a bit more pricey than some of the places on the high street.

I loved this place. Elaine is a brilliant host, very welcoming. Set in a beautiful outdoor setting. Very relaxed, great place to chill in the garden whilst having some delicious tea and scones!

Must try the lamb masala either in the bread bowl or with rice. Flavorful and tender pieces of lamb. On weekends they have a nasi lemak special. Overall on the pricey side.

A new cafe to open in Tanah Rata - Barracks Cafe. The cafe is housed in a military barrack built by the British during World War II. The Barracks Cafe offers a variety of Asian, Western and fusion dishes. It also has a scenic garden which is perfect to chill out with a book, a cup of tea, scones or home made apple pie . A must visit if you're in Cameron Highlands as this place offers you a unique dining experience in an actual British military barrack with an adjoining outdoor area.
