Carnivore serves since 2003 mouth-watering steaks; Rib Eye (Black Angus), Tenderloin (Black Angus), Sirloin (Black Angus), Picanha (Wagyu) , Rump (Wagyu) and Tomahawk (1.4 kg of Black Angus). But also we have pork, lamb, duck and chicken. All our beef is imported vacuum fresh from Australia and New Zealand. Also do we serve several fish plates; prawns, white snapper, tuna and more. Our generous salads and wide range of starters are highly appreciated with our guests. All main courses are served with a delicious salad, and you can choose between 13 side dishes and 6 meat-sauces. Besides many beers we also have a selection of about 30 different whiskeys; many of them single malts. These can also be enjoyed in our wine bar.

Really enjoyed the food. The service was fantastic and the restaurateur is honest with their pricing in that what you see on each item on the menu is what you get charged no dishonest surcharges and fine print here, so remember to leave a tip if when you are happy. Servings come with nicely prepared side salads, a selection of sides and sauces. Meal sizes are large. Our party could not finish their servings and we walked out very full. Outstanding selection of beers, if you are promiscuous with trying new beers you won't be dissapointed. Steaks are cooked perfectly to order and the chicken fillet was moist inside. The Chef here knows his craft well. Air conditioners were working and I also had a fan blowing directly so I was very comfortable. Chairs are wide and comfortable and tables are white cloth covered with a candle. The entire ambiance is perfect for a special dinner or just feeling like you are well catered to. Staff catetered to our members' gluten free needs well and were on the ball with all aspects of service. I must say their appearance, manner and attention to detail was excellent. My only gripe was a inconsiderate couple that brought their infant to dinner and the child did not stop crying. We were not the only ones disappointed as other diners were shaking their heads in response to what was going on. I recognise It's difficult for staff to do anything about this, my recommendation it to either sit these people in a designated outside area or refuse entry supported by a sign outside the restaurant. Unfortunately some restaurateurs are just too accomodating not willing to upset people but when you consider a couple coming into a resturant in the evening with a tired and restless child its easy its a no brainer. Thanks for a great night, will defiantly come back.

Hi whitepointer, It was a pleasure to receive your review today. Really great to get a 5 star review from someone with this many reviews behind his name. About the crying child, it can be hard sometimes. I myself have a 4 year old and it's not always easy to keep a baby quiet, sometimes if they are tired, hungry or sick. We had a few terrible experiences with my boy in the airplane...long distance to Europe. For me it was an absolute nightmare, my son felt my stress which only made things worse. In the case you had yesterday there where some circumstances that might explain why this happened. I will contact you privately to explain this to you, You might would want to alter the part of the child. Just dont change the rest of your review. :-) Kind regards, Gidi Mevissen

Went for a tomahawk steak

I've decided to go for a medium rare cooked tomahawk steak (1.400g) to be shared among 2 adults. The steak was cooked perfectly and both of us enjoyed every single bite of it. The staff was very attentive and the restaurant atmosphere invites to stay and relax after a hot day on the beach. I'd definitely go for a tomahawk steak again, as long as somebody would help me finishing it. Well worth a visit.

Fine Dining @ Ao Nang

Me and my girlfriend visited this place and had; Few beers, Drink, Tenderloin steaks and glasses of red wine. Service was very kind and professional during whole visit. Tenderloin steaks were delicious (Highly recommending these, mustard sauce and pepper topping 👌) There is also good starter salad and starter bread included for main dish. Also despite of location a lot of people seemed to find their way there (and its definately worth of short walk.) 👍 Shame I cannot provide you 6/5*, Simply enjoying dinner in this place was worth it. Keep up the good work! And for Finnish visitors: Toki ruoka on hieman hinnakkaampaa kuin paikallinen ruoka, Pääsääntöisesti kuitenkin tuontiruokia, hintataso edellämainituista annoksista olisi esimerkiksi Suomessa vähintäänkin 100% kalliimpaa. (Tästä syystä en itse miellä tätä edes kalliiksi.)

Fabulous food

Visited this restaurant after reading other positive reviews and glad we did. Lovely styled restaurant, the staff were truly bi lingual with excellent English. My partner had the beef borgignon and said it was the best he'd ever tasted and I had the pork medallions which was a huge portion and beautifully displayed on the plate. Bit pricey but as we soon realised in Thailand you've got the extremes with pad Thai on the streets for 50 baht to an over priced Italian we had in koh Samui at £75 for two spaghetti dishes 😩. This was a £50 meal for two with only two Changs drunk but worth it.

Excellent steak again

2nd visit, we came here last year. Definitely one of the best steaks we have had . Service was great. On tip a learnt for last time , is to miss out on a starter, as they give you an amazing salad. It is expensive, our bill got 2 was 3000 Baht , but for a special meal was worth it. See you when we are back in Ao nang .

Cooked to perfection

A cosy place with great food. Portions are enormous so be careful ordering a full menu. Excellent meat, cooked to perfection. And if for those who do not fancy to eat meat there is still the possibility to eat a nice salad. Friendly staff and service minded attitude. We will come back next year!

Amazing meat, steak and burgers cooked exactly as specified and so tasty. The meals are such good value as they come with a brilliant salad and your choice of side dish which, both of which are generous sizes. Decor and style of the restaurant is lovely and the staff were great. Would totally recommend whether in a couple of a big group

Out for a fish meny

Had a tasty and delicious dinnen by Carnivore Steak & Grill yesterday. The meny was mainly fish but if you prefer steak you could choose that. Maybe it could be a bigger piece of the cod and a little more fresher, but as Norwegian and used to fish less then a day old, this was a delicious and very accepable fish meny and dinner.

we ate here for my birthday so wanted somewhere special, and had heard this was the BEST steakhouse in Ao Nang. starters were delicious, two of us had the scallops, and 2 had prawns. both highly recommended. starters come with a tasty warm bread bun and butter. then we received a salad, of various grated items and a quail egg. this, again, was so nice I never managed to save mine to eat with my main. mains were steaks all round. mine was medium, and I was happy with how it was cooked, as were the rest of our party. the ambience of the restaurant is lovely. and after our food, we were served a little sambucca with coffee beans. the first time was so good, we also treated ourselves to a blowout here for our last meal in Thailand. this time we tried the burgers and the ribs. great quality, very filling. very very tasty. must try the carnivore if you fancy a steak or burger.

Carnevore Restaurant, an exellent place

We had a Good Bye for our friends, Lisbeth and Halvdan, how is visting Ao Nang the last years. We choose a Mexican dish, Entrecote and a Family plate for two. As always the staff, service and food was exellent. I ordered an aquavit how to get a Scandinavian tatse of alcohol to the dinner, but I was surpriced when it was served in a whisky glas. I guess that it should be better served in a shot glas, like the Sambuca. But so to speak we was satisfied both with the quality of the service and the food. As last dinner by Carnevore we had Frenche Coffee to dessert and both the making the Frenche Coffee and the exellent taste of it gave us a memorable Good Bye dinner for this time. Thank you to te staff and the Gidi.

A decent place to eat a decent steak. Do not expect to be blown away, the quality of the meat is good for Thailand, but entirely average. The sauces and side dishes are all the standard fare you would expect in a steak house. Staff is friendly but only modestly trained.

Great to be back

After 2 years of travel restrictions, we've finally made it back to the Carnivore and we've been glad to see that service, food, drinks and ambiente remained at the top in class standard. We've decided to share a Tomahawk steak (1.400 gramm) and what can I say; it was cooked to perfection. We have been dining here 5 times during hour stay in Ao Nang to try different starters, main dishes, wines and deserts and each time we were fully satisfied. Kudos to the entire Carnivore team - we will be back very soon.

Better meat-restaurant is hard to find

Everything here was incredibly tasty, from the starters to the extremely high quality meat. We ate the rib-eye and the sirloine. What a tasty experience. Expect to pay a great deal, but it is definitely worth it. They also made the best Irish coffee I have ever tasted! No argument. (also in the most spectacular way I have ever seen.) We had a great night.

A Change From Spice

Having enjoyed some wonderful Thai meals we decided to look for a steak house and what a wonderful find Carnivore is. Excellent menu choices, wonderful attentive service, beautiful food presentation. The steak was superb - all the meats were great and cooked really well. The salad they served with the meal was absolutely delicious. They also serve an appetiser platter which was also delicious - great bread. The atmosphere and ambience is welcoming and the staff are gracious and efficient

Good meat needs a nice wine but that was missing.

Food is good and when you come 1st time the dining experience is fine, but the 2nd time was disappointing. We took wine which was "highly recommended by the restaurant" but it was actually very bad. I mentioned that but the waitress didn't say anything. Price of that wine was 1795 bath (48€) and Vivino's average price 9,27€, so just pure business to get rid of bad stuff. Not very nice thing.

Hi 405 Petrik Thank you got your visit and even your return visit. Your review leaves a bit of bad feeling with me. First of all, we are trying to recover and still trying to survive from all that's happening in the world, to get a review like this is not nice. The points you bring out, are in my eyes not fair. About the wine; 2 options either the wine was off or it was not your taste! When we did serve you the wine my manger (she remembers you and your wife) did let you sample it first. You sampled it and then told the manager it was good, we would never serve you the wine if it was not good. So if the wine was not spoilt, then it was not to your taste. We have over 40 different wines by the bottle, there is enough choice. Everybody's taste is different (luckily). For me that is a good wine, again I don't know your taste. About the price, you say it costs 9.27€ at vivino. That's wholesale in Europe. Import duty is 230% for wine in Thailand. That means we are talking almost 30€ when it arrives in Thailand Then the importer needs a profit, the distributor and then finally we should try to make a profit to pay for staff, electric, glassware napkins, laundry etc. As you compare the prices this way, look at this comparison; Bottle of Finlandia Vodka costs in the Netherlands 16€. Same bottle cost 35€ in your country Finland where it is actually produced. You are on the other side of your home A Pad Thai will cost you in Finland 15 €, her it will cost you 2€. You almost suggest we rip you off by stating a frustrated "pure business to get rid of bad stuff" If we want to save money we would not serve you free appetizers, cool towels maybe sambuca shot and/ or some chocolates. Again thank you for your visit but I find your attack on us not fair. kind regards, Gidi Mevissen
