Great place, always busy but fast service. Dishes with quality products with honest prices, we went there through word of mouth from other Italians and we returned throughout the holiday. If you come to Krabi Ao Nang area you can't help but go there.

Amazing value authentic Thai food

Wow what a great find amazing Thai food at a great price! My wife had the pad Thai which she said was amazing and I had the best massaman curry i have ever had! Full of flavour and a great portion size and the total bill came to £16 which included large beer and vodka and coke such great value!

Kodam Kitchen is a hidden gem in Auonang- Krabi , Thailand, offering authentic Thai cuisine in a very friendly setting. Despite its off-the-path location, the restaurant has its repuation for its delicious dishes and friendly service. It’s always full of hungry customers and you need to be patient. But I promise you it worth the wait.

Got tips on Ao Nang's best restaurant Kodam - coming there and there are about 20 couples / company waiting for a table. We got number 21. After 20 minutes we got one away and two menus. Then it took 20-25 minutes before service staff arrived and took our order. Several couples had to order before us even though they had come after us. My partner thought they could buy me a beer because of their forgetfulness. We ordered chicken skewers with satay sauce, the chicken was run over. The fried pork was best during the evening. For main course we ordered Grilled seafood for two people. The octopus totally inedible, tough as rubber bands. No piece could be eaten, see picture. The dipping sauce to was much too strong, like strong but this sauce killed the nice flavors of mussel, shrimp etc. This was a real tourist trap. Had earlier in the day been to Riley beach and had two Thai dishes that were 8.5/10. Really good, genuine and well balanced.

We arrived on a night out without a reservation. It was extremely busy and we waited in a queue to be seated which was no bother. We got a table after around 15 mins and were seated without a menu or drink for around another 20-30 mins.. We ordered a starter to share- fish cakes with Chinese plum sauce which was enough for the two and was ok. We waited about another 25-30 mins for our mains and decided against attempting to order another drink or dessert. The food was presented well and was ok but I’m not sure I’d return. Price was reasonable around £40

The restaurant is quite popular and you have to wait a bit until you get a seat. Food comes quickly but is Thai normal, nothing special. We received a different dish than originally ordered, we also ate it, but drew attention to it. Nevertheless, we were charged for the more expensive dish. Egal. At least with the rush, you can expect the food to be freshly cooked.

Top Thai food at bargain prices

We wanted an authentic-feeling Thai restaurant for our last night staying in Ao Nang and KoDam Kitchen provided exactly the sort of experience we were after. Tucked away down a quiet road off the main beach strip KoDam is a large and colourful space with indoor and outdoor eating areas and a bunch of friendly and smiling staff to see to your needs. The food is extremely well-priced for the freshness and quality and is delivered quickly and with a minimum of fuss. Their signature Baked Krabi Pineapple fried rice was particularly delicious and presented in a scooped out half pineapple. My wife has some dietary issues and these were dealt with efficiently and confidently by staff. Recommended for lovely Thai dishes and a great night out.

We were in Krabi for 5 nights and 4 nights we had dinner here. You are greeted by busy yet warm service staff. The place is generally full and you might have to wait for about 10 minutes. The quality and the taste of each dish we ate was 100/100. The menu is big enough for you to be able to order new dishes every time you visit and be surprised by each of them. Do try the Andaman Curry Crab, the pork belly, the Tom yum soup, morning glory in oyster sauce. On our first day we saw a man, sitting right on the service station and looking at each and every dish going to the table which we realized was the Quality Check. On our last day, we met him and he was the owner, Mr. Kodam. Highly recommend this place to everyone in Krabi.

Amazing food but very slow service

Great food at a reasonable price! Every dish was delicious however service was very slow! Waited about 15 mins to be seated which we were happy waiting. We had to wait another 20 mins after we were seated and ended up asking to order food. We waited another 30 mins after our mains to wait for dessert menus (which again we had to ask for) and our plates to be cleared.

This restaurant is tucked away down on the same Soi as Krabi La Playa so you wouldn’t walk past it. The first positive thing you notice is that 80% of the customers are local and only 20% tourists. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced and a world away from the tourist trap restaurants on the beach road. Definitely worth making the effort to find this place.

My partner and I recently went to Ao Nang for 2 nights, and we’d seen KoDam being mentioned across social media as the best restaurant in the area, so decided to give it a go. Our expectations were already pretty high from what we’d seen / heard, and somehow KoDam managed to exceed them. So much so that we didn’t think it was worth trying any other restaurant in Ao Nang whilst there, and just went back to KoDam. We had pineapple fried rice with shrimp (an absolute must, one of the tastiest things I’ve ever had), chicken massaman curry (also the best I’ve ever had), deep fried snapper (so fresh, so tasty), grilled prawns and chicken satay. Everything was unbelievable, and so reasonably priced too (all of the above with 2 drinks less than £25). They are so popular they are consistently full all evening, however they have a huge location, and have a pretty efficient queueing system so even if you’re 10th in the queue you’ll be sat within 10 mins. If you’re in the area then defo check it out!

We tried Kodam Kitchen earlier in the week and whilst we reserved a table for 7:30pm, the service had ‘lost control’ and we left after 20 mins having only be provided with a menu and no service despite a couple of asks. We returned as the restaurant had been recommended, however, this time we were there at 7pm and there were still a few tables available. Service this time was fine and the food was fantastic and very reasonably priced. We are leaving in two days but may well try and fit in another visit.

Man! This place is a super good gem. Pls don’t come here as it is crowded a lot already haha! Anyways , been to ao nang twice already and sad that I discovered this place on my second visit ! Attached are some of the foods I ordered and each of which was affordable and delicious. Oh and not to mention my personal favorite …. They accept credit card ! Servers were nice and prompt , location was decent ! Pls make a stop here

Brutal, that's the word. It is a traditional Thai restaurant with very elaborate and delicious dishes. No “buts” for this place, perfect treatment from the waiters, fast and attentive, relaxing ambient music and delicious food. I will recommend it and repeat it.
