We visited Pookys based on trip advisor reviews and have regretted this visit completely The owner is the most dour Irish person ever who lacks personality completely which really destroyed the visit. Due to this the place lacked any sense of atmosphere even though the place is really nice and modern. The beer served was not cold and tasted slightly... More

Now Pookys Place with a slight relocation, but still on Ao Nang Road leading down to the beach, this is a great little meeting place for local expats and tourists alike. There is a good Happy Hour, with the food and drinks reasonably priced and the staff friendly. The food is a great mixture of traditional pub food and excellent... More

Drop by here one evening for a sandwich and a beer as we were fed up with noodles and curry. Friendly welcome and quick service. Good chips and sandwiches and great spot for people watching.

To be honest I was a bit reluctant to visit Pooky O'Leary's as I have an aversion to "Oirish" bars abroad, but we were told the food was excellent here, so I begrudgingly went along. And I'm so glad I did, as it's not really an Irish bar in the plastic paddy sense. Food very very good, green curry so... More

I ordered the Pooky burger, and my partner ordered a vegan pad thai. They were super accommodating, even getting more bananas (after they ran out) to make her a banana smoothie. The burger was DELICIOUS. I couldn't stop talking about it after we left. Juicy and fresh, with the perfect amount of burger sauce. Easily the best burger I've had... More

Can't really go too far wrong with this place. I ordered a watermelon juice which I believe was freshly made and superb. There wasn't a lot of veggie choice on the menu but it does say to speak to the server for more options. She told me they could pretty much make what I wanted so I went for a... More

Cozy restaurant, kind staff, good and cheap food and good atmosphere. Paid 120 baht for a chicken pad Thai. Delicious!

I met a friend there for drinks and dinner. The food was yummy and the portions large. Bobby and Pooky are great hosts as Bobby brings an Irish flair to the place.

We are a family run business, our local chef, Pooky, provides quality western and authentic, traditional Thai dishes. Our top Irish dishes are the O'Leary shepherd's pie and the beef and Guinness stew. We moved into our new place at the end of 2016 after 3 years at Pooky's Place. Our new place has a pool table, a balcony overlooking our fishing lake and raised seating perfect for watching the world go by. We have staff fluent in Thai and English to get you your food exactly how you want it. You can order your food spicy (or not spicy at all) or vegetarian if you want.We also have plenty of things on the menu to keep the kids happy and we sometimes do barbeques with the ribs being very popular. Major sports events like the Premier League, UFC and AFL are shown live and with commentary. You can find us right in front of Full Moon Resort.
