We stopped for a Saturday evening drink. The guest ales were nice and a good selection of wine. Nice cosy place with friendly staff. I would definitely go for a drink there again and the food menu looked good too!

Jon, our host, couldn’t do enough to help, from booking us in, showing us to our rooms, serving behind the bar and then our evening meal with his army of staff. Still with an enormous smile at breakfast when we all reappeared he couldn’t have done any more to make our... More

After arriving on a very busy Saturday evening, I thought we would be in for a long wait for our food. But we were shown to our table promptly, and after ordering our lovely starters they arrived within 10 minutes. My husband had the prawn and crayfish cocktail and I had the chicken pate. Both were extremely tasty and well... More

I discovered The Moors Inn on visiting this picturesque village during their Medieval Weekend. Blessed with good weather, I sat outside on the street front, although there was another equally appealing seating area and a garden at the rear. I only had time for a coffee but had seen enough to be tempted to return for what promised to be... More

Appleton an the Moors Inn is easy to find off the A170 but tucked away inside the North York Moors National park. It's peaceful and quiet, serves real ale and in the bar area allows dogs, a must for us these days. Food was prompt, plentiful and in my case the pie was the best I had tasted for a... More

This is a real pub with sheep wandering down the Main Street outside the pub door. Has both restaurant and bar options for eating. Reasoable number of choices on the menu with specials board as well. Choice of cask beers including local alternatives. The landlord has been in position for less than two years and is working hard to to... More
