This restaurant is the one thing I wish I could bring back to the states. The food is incredible. They also have this bean broth that will make your heart sing. GO HERE!

Stopped by to get a hearty, inexpensive lunch for our family while we were visiting TJ for the day, and we made the right choice. The tamales are a delight. The place has a nice cozy atmosphere, and the service was really good too.

Soooo good. A local turned us on to this place and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere, the food, the service and everything in between. Authentic Mexican food with lots of flavor and very reasonable. 4 of us ate for $28 US$.

Cafe la Especial has been a family favorite and traditional visit since I was a child in Tijuana. I was surprised to hear of the newer location nearer to Aguascalientes but delighted to see the same decor, relics and menu as the one on Revolución. Great selection of steaks, and favorite antojitos and sopas. A great place for family and... More

The famous walk in restaurant downstairs is gone but the window on Ave.Revolucion is still operating. They serve Tacos al Vapor, two corn tortillas stuffed and then steamed like tamales. They are unique and delicious. Each one contains a prepared meat stuffing (al Pastor), a seasoned carrot, salsa, and is served with a fresh green onion and a radish. As... More

Made a trip here in late June and it was closed. I had been here twice before and was looking forward to eating here on this visit. It looked like it was long gone...only a take out Taco Stand still exists here.

Ok so it is over crowded...but the food is great...fast service. One piece of advice though, in the summer time when it is hot, this restaurant can be on the hot stuffy side. For the price, food is great, noisy restaurant but great food.
