The food was good, although I thought it was a little overpriced for mexico. Two drinks each and two meals (one being an order of shrimp that was 35 dollars) was about 115 USD. After dinner, at which my wife had only drank 1.5 margaritas...More

Have been coming to this restaurant since it was up in a back street in town. Just about recall it was a great restaurant (after several blue margharitas! Love the new location on the beach. The waves crashing right next to the verandah only added...More

The Blue Shrimp is right on the beach. Gorgeous view of the bay. Great place for sunset cocktails. And the cocktails are good. The food is another story. It's just not very good. On one visit I got the stuffed shrimp wrapped in bacon. These...More

Great place to watch the sunset (in August). High class environment. A bit pricy for the area, but worth it ($30/plate & drink). Excellent service. Felt like a queen! If you like shrimp, this is the place to go. Live jazz music was good too.

Location is very nice. Restaurant looks good. However found the food to be very average and tasteless. Huge amounts of batter around tasteless shrimp and rice was flavourless. Nothing special about the food here and much better to be had. A man asked us if...More

This place is passable at best. I guess it goes without saying to avoid a place where they are giving away "samples" at the door to try and tempt people in. We went in on a recommendation from a friend and it was, honestly, the...More

It's not far. A longish walk or short taxi ride. Taxis are cheap BUT agree on fare before you get in NOT after you arrive.

Limited nearby quality "hotel" options. Many, many condos are for rent via VRBO, TripAdvisor, etc. Keep in mind, it's an easy and cheap taxi ride from the hotel zone.

The Blue Shrimp Restaurant in Puerto Vallarta is the best seafood restaurant in the area, long time established. Situated off Olas Altas Beach, on the ocean with spectacular daily view of the sunset, The Blue Shrimp Restaurant is a fun atmosphere with occasional live entertainment, under a large palapa roof and ‘boat-deck’ feel. Open for lunch and dinner, The Blue Shrimp Restaurant serves mouth-watering seafood and shrimp concoctions that you cannot find anywhere else! The restaurant is a great place to bring the family, celebrate a birthday, romantic dinner, or special event. Come sit down with us, right at the end of the Malecon and feel the breeze of the Banderas Bay, it’s Shrimply The Best!
