We visited the restaurant to celebrate our 10 years of relationship, and it was definitely the best possible option. Our choice was the teppanyaki table, and although initially we did not have a seat because everything was full that night, Amaxal, Gloria and the Management moved heaven and earth to find us a location. Many thanks to the entire team for making it possible!
The food is delicious and the ingredients are quality, with a special mention for the fried rice with vegetables. The atmosphere is very pleasant and the service is exceptional. The cook's show on the griddle completes a magnificent experience. Also, as a culmination, my partner caught the little piece of omelette in his mouth that the chef threw at him from his position: you couldn't ask for more.
As we told the manager, culminating 10 years of happiness with an artistic mound of onion, we can only hope that the next 10 years will be just as happy and we can celebrate it at Mikado Puerto Vallarta.
It's not cheap, but for one of those special occasions when money is burning in your pockets, don't hesitate, you won't regret it.

We recently attended a cooking class at Mikado. This was an excellent experience. Efrain was the chef and Ralph supported. They ere teaching us how to make shrimp fried rice and we then were able to delight in the food prepared. Efrain was very entertaining showing his skills with the cooking utensils and food preparation. He juggled raw eggs with his tools and created a very fun atmosphere. The food was delicious. Ralph assisted and was great. If you are staying at the Marriott and have an opportunity to attend one of the demonstrations you will not be disappointed.

Great staff and food. Special thanks to Gerardo and Rachel who know how to make you feel at ease and augment your overall experience for the service, ambiance and of course your taste buds. We actually went 3 times with a week stay at the marriott and enjoyed our time every minute. First night, we experienced the tepanyaki and even though it was not our first time with tepenyaki, our cook Max made it interactive enough to make our teenagers participate and have fun. And the food was fantastic. The second time, we had the vietnamese rolls, the Baos and sushi assortments and all tasted scrumptious. The last time, we had the rolls and the baos again, the sashimi combo, the ramen and the main with salmon and the food was all prepared so well. Really enjoyable experience all 3 times. Did not disappoint.

The place looks great and we were exited to go here. We made reservations but when we got there 90% of the tables were empty. The first thing we noticed was the menu didn’t match the website and was very hard to read. We ordered some beers and were presented 2 CANS of beer which the waiter poured into the glasses. He left the cans on the table. Next we get a salad and I inform the waiter that I have no napkin or silverware. The waiter brings me a knife only. I ask if I will get a napkin and fork. He gives me my wife’s salad fork and finally comes with a napkin. In fairness my wife’s meal was fine but she gave me a lot of it. I ordered a steak and half of it was fat and the other half was very chewy. The muni said it came with mashed potatoes but I got two 1” square dishes with unknown substances. This restaurant is an illusion of a classy place. Extremely expensive and very low quality. The waiter asked how I liked my steak and I told him it was not great. He said he would tell the chef but I never heard from him. Frankly my dinner should have been free because it was so bad. Please don’t go here!

It is clear to me that it is not Japan, but it has many elements that made me feel like I was in Japan. Unfortunately, much of the food offered in the restaurant is tropicalized for palates foreign to Japanese culture, but it still retains much of the Asian conception. It has sake, original Japanese beers, grill fun, and some dishes that resemble those made in Japan. The tanned ginger was delicious and the service from the waiters and chef was very good, almost extraordinary. It is worth going and eating in a pleasant atmosphere and being well served by the staff. Thank you so much.

My family and I had an incredible dining experience at Mikado in Puerto Vallarta! The hibachi-style cooking was a hit with everyone, and the food was absolutely amazing. Our waiter, Ralph, was extremely attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The highlight of the night was our chef, Jorge, who was not only talented but also incredibly entertaining, making the evening fun and memorable. I highly recommend Mikado to any family visiting Puerto Vallarta. It’s a must-visit for a delicious and engaging dining experience!

Arrived about 15 mins early and had a cocktail at the sit up bar. Staff was very congenial. Our table was promptly ready for our reservation time. We had reserved the teppanyaki experience and were not disappointed. We had chicken and catch of the day (mahi mahi). It came with rice and vegetables and there was definitely enough to complete out meal. There is an extra charge for fried rice as opposed to the steamed rice. Efrain was our cook and he put on a good show and even allowed time for videos and photos. We were celebrating our 40 wedding anniversary and were presented with a free dessert. Will definitely be back. It felt chilly when we arrived but after a minute it felt very comfortable especially at the teppanyaki seating area.

We have been several times in the past, however this time they’ve outdone themselves. Excellent service, and amazing food. The servers and chef went out of their way to make my 8 year old daughter feel special on her birthday. The chef involved the customers, and showed us some new tricks. Did I mention the food was excellent 😊. Thanks for a great night. We will be back.

The food was not worth the price we paid. The sushi tasted like something from a supermarket and the ramen was lacking in taste and we aren't sure what kind of noodles we got, but it wasn't ramen. Service was poor, everyone seemed like they didn't want to work the night we ate their. Last minute choice as it was in walking distance to our resort, will admit this was a poor choice and bad experience on our trip. Not worth it.

This restaurant serves some of the best Japanese food that I have ever experienced. The setting is evocative of an oriental garden and the decor is exquisite. The Para Compartir sharing appetizer was out of this world, and generous. The experience was enhanced by Ralph, our fabulous waiter.

Our cook was still learning how to cook on the teppan grill. It was his 4th day.That didn't brother me so much, but the quality of the supposed fillet mignon was a joke. It was dry and hard to chew. The shrimp were big and ok tasting. The shrimp tempura was ok,too.The meal wasn't up to par for our taste. We've eaten Japanese food all over the US and this restaurant needs better training and a better quality of meat for being such a pricey place.

As always we were not disappointed. The recently redone decor is beautiful and is more spacious. The menu is awesome including items listed gluten free, which is critical for us. The food was absolutely delicious for all 4 of us, each having different entrees. The service was without equal. Our server, Ramon, was very attentive, professional and personable. We will, of course, return, this being one of our favorite restaurants.

Truly a great experience! Of 4 nights in PV we had dinner here twice. Coming from Miami we have an ample supply of sushi & Teppanyaki restaurants, but these folks are super friendly and appreciative of your visit. The food is good and the service is a “Homerun”! Even the Manager lady from France will come to the table. Family of 6, we had a great experience.

Delicious food, similar to the original (from Japan), as it has been tropicalized to be Latin in taste. Even so, they retain much of the seasoning, preparation and presentation of Japanese cuisine. Very pleasant atmosphere and good service from waiters and the chef that make the experience more pleasant. It's worth going to eat there.

Had dinner at Mikado 2x this week. Very good experience both times. Christian, Manuel and both chefs were great (can't remember their names) the resort is beautiful with several other spots for a drink before or after dinner. Note: we stayed at a different property)
