Went here for breakfast and was packed quickly with tourists. Breakfast was good. Mosquitos or what ever was biting me during the wait. Bathrooms non functional. No flush and no water in both ladies and men's. Price was ok and service good.

After reading the comments we booked a table for dinner expecting amazing home made Mexican food. We both ordered tuna and mahi-mahi. Tuna was overcooked and the garlic sauce was very oily and the mahi-mahi with escabeche was good but we had the same dish at many other restaurants. The location is not great as it is on a very... We had a lovely breakfast here. We especially liked the Mexican coffee - coffee made with cinnamon. The owners and servers are very attentive. The ambience is very inviting.

My girls and I tried this quaint little restaurant while in Zihuatanejo. The food was so delicious and we dined there another time while on vacation that week. Many different menu items to choose from but my girls LOVED the pancakes - they were delicious! Definitely on my list to go back to!

We went there for lunch recommended by our amigo Carlos. There was 6 of us. We were immediately seated and greeted with a warm smile. Our waiter Vincent could not have been more helpful. He thoroughly explained the menu, took our drink order (margaritas). Waited until we tried them and returned the ones which were too sweet, all with a... More

This was the first restraunt we ate at on our list of want-to-dos. The food was fresh and amazing! The staff was kind and helpful! We had breakfast and will definitely be back for dinner before we leave.

Very popular and busy spot. Great food and portions, omelettes were so good, nice spicy salsas come with. Recommend a visit.

Exceptional food and service, I had grilled mahi with a light seasoning which was superb. Not only great service, but they helped translate when I had trouble understanding the Mexican family I was dining with. I plan to visit often during my stay.

I always start off the review of Carmelita's with the "friendly" family. Victor, Carmelita, Sylvia and the rest of the family just make it such a warm place to dine. Last night my wife ordered Carmelita's Camarones a los 4 chiles and it was the most delicious shrimp dish she had ever had. The sauce was terrific. I had a... More

We are a family business for over 20 years we were located within the Airport Zihuatanejo, the business was called "Snack Bar - El Mirador"; but in 2008 we decided to leave the anonymity and moved to town with a new "Carmelite Cafe" concept. The mission of Carmen and Don Jesus was always clear, offer our customers the best dining experience in Zihuatanejo. During these years we have been aware of the importance of treating our guests like family. We pride ourselves everyday to trust Cafe Carmelites to treat at home; therefore, we insist that the recipes of Mrs. Carmelita, always keep the flavor of the Mexican family kitchen. We will always have an eye to providing the best quality in each of our dishes; leaving aside, a friendly smile and a humble to serve our customers heart. We cook for you like for our own home, without shortcuts, no frills, with love.
