Sat on the terrace at the front of the building and enjoyed a quiet evening of good food and interesting conversation. The Caesar salad was made at the table and set the stage for a wonderfully traditional meal. Our friends had steak tartare also prepared tableside and raved. We had veal picata with a side of pasta. Nice wine list.... More

On my first trip to Guadalajara in the late 1980's my wife and I enjoyed an absolutely excellent meal at this restaurant housed in an old mansion. The food was as good as any Italian restaurant, the ambience was quiet, and the service, excellent. On each of the many times that I have returned to Guadalajara over the years, this... More

This grand old building houses one of the best in Italian "eats" in Guadalajara. Luigi, its founding owner since coming to Mexico from Recco in Italy has kept it true to the Italian style. The waiters are impeccably dressed, the service is first class and the food is outstanding. Yes, it makes you feel like your going back in time,... More

So many people have recommended this restaurant, we tried it last time in Guadalajara. Not worth it. Couldn't even tell it was Italian, it was that bad.

Recco is one of the oldest restaurants in Guadalajara. Supposedly their specialty is Italian food. When I was younger I would go with my parents and eat here. I always remember it as "grown up" and very traditional. I am 43 years old and yesterday I had lunch at Recco. The atmosphere hasn’t changed in 30 years. Their specialties are... More

This restaurant is superb. It is in a beautiful old house very close to the US Consul with adequate parking and a very spacious interior. The owner, Luigi, is a great character and his staff have been with him for a long time. The service is great and the food is divine. My favorite dish is the Cacharro, which is... More

In a beautiful old colonial home, Recco's menu is full of good Italian dishes served by classic old gentlemen waiters on white table cloths. It's a great place for a business or family meal in an atmosphere you can enjoy and easily share conversations.

When I say I lives 15 months in Paris, perhaps it gives some cred. with food. Recco (upscale Italian) is simply the best I have found yet in Mexico. Not only do I love it above all, but Mexican friend also long to go back. The venue is one of those beautiful old mansions near the U.S. Consulate, but the... More
