Nice setting and location, food tried to be Modern Mexican Food but is not. There is a reason why classic recipes prevail, they seem to try to hard to make sophisticated but is just not. Maybe is good for drinks and the view but I...More

I was nervous about arriving solo at peak lunch time, but no one seemed to have a problem with it. I ordered a tamarindo margarita which came blended. My fault for forgetting to order it on the rocks! Was still good, but just warning! I...More

We went there on sunday for lunch, was crowded but we decided to wait. There is a beautiful view of the Zocalo area. The staff was not enought for all the tables, all were complaining about the slow service. (very slow except for pay)

This terrace with its unique view over the temple mayor and cathedral became a place in CDMX where I returned several times, alone or with friends. I haven't seen a comparable nice terrace, friendly, open, sunny, just something special. Downstairs is a book shop (Porua)....More

Not changing my mind. Rude staff and no management with class either. They feed on being a one stop place to eat and who cares about customers. Avoid this place . There are so many better options in Mexico City.

On the corner of “Republica de Argentina” and “Justo Sierra (Donceles)”, at the roof garden of the popular and traditional bookstore and publisher named “Libreria Porrúa” you can find a contemporary design Restaurant where elements such as vegetation (cacti originating in our Mexico), floors in granite and wood, modern furniture and glass make up its structure. Restaurant El Mayor is a proposal for high gastronomy in the heart of Mexico City Downtown. A multiproposal concept that includes terrace-deli, bar and restaurant with a view unique to the archaeological area of temple Mayor, the backs of the Metropolitan Cathedral, as well as majestic buildings of the Colonial and modern Mexico. The menu is based on classic Mexican food with a contemporary, where ingredients base of our Mexican gastronomic heritage are the main reason for the letter.
