We wanted to experience Coyoacan at night and enjoy Italian food at the same time. It was our last evening in Mexico City after a week traveling around. My lasagna was very good and enjoyed their version of Sangria. It was so good! Can't remember its name.

My husband and I chose this spot for a special breakfast as we headed out on an anniversary trip. We are very used to the restaurants in the Zocalo in coyoacan and foolishly assumed that the juice and other things they kept offer in were part of the package. They were not. This Breakfast cost more than many of Our... More

Best pizza and meats. Nice outdoor seating under umbrella. Attentive waiters. Succulent meats. Large tasty pizzas.

The food was really good, we ordered the risotto nero, risotto with wild mushrooms and the sesame coated salmon with guava and red fruit purée. They were all delicious. Desert was not something they would stand out for, but the service was on point and the terrace is really nice. Would definitely go back.

We had breakfast in this restaurant which is very nicely decorated colonial style. It has a pretty terrace where you can eat and have a pretty view of Coyoacan's down town garden. They serve mexican food and have a big variety of omelets, enchiladas and different mexican dishes, fruit and pastries. You can spend a nice time before or after... More

The waiters really want to please customers. Their suggestions are honest and catered to the individual taste of the clientele. Scrumptious desserts, and very good coffee!

We only take lemonades (well prepared, no so sweet) and shrimps with coconut, delicious. Nice service.

Although a little touristy in a “restaurant row” next to the main plaza, the food was excellent, as was the service. My friends wanted me to try a particular mushroom, also called “corn smut,” with my chicken, so the waiter was happy to bring out a sample for us to try. I liked it and ordered it. The fried shrimp... More

We were seated at the patio edge facing the lovely Jardin Centenairo on a warm Sunday for lunch. Great spot for people watching, a bit annoying with street vendors and begging but a fine view of the well maintained park. One of several restaurants with Jardin patios. Service was good. Acceptable margarita and we each had the Quesidilla Montezuma with... More

Staying in Coyoacan

Neighbourhood Profile
Once you step into Coyoacán (“Land of the Coyotes”) you'll find picturesque parks and cantinas that will transport you back to the colonial era thanks to the brick and stone details of the area. Iconic writers such as Trotsky and great painters like Frida Kahlo seeked refuge and inspiration in this area, and you can see the unique spirit of this neighborhood reflected in its colorful market where nieves, sopes and all kinds of traditional 'antojitos' are a must try. Restaurants and cafés throughout its peaceful paved streets contain traditional but unique murals and decorations, where one can enjoy a mezcal at noon or the best churros with a cup of coffee.
