This place is still superb, but watch out for adjoining competitors. They use the same bright yellow decor, and have signs like " TOSTADAS blah blah COYOACAN" with the blah blah in tiny letters so you'll be fooled. Any place that is this crooked will also give you rotten food. Look for the word "Original" in the sign. Make sure... More

My friend and I enjoyed lunch at this popular spot with mannnny different types of options to put on your tostada. These folks were very patient with my inability to eat dairy or tomatoes and we found some good options for me. A great place for a bite after visiting Frida Kahlo's house / museum down the street.

It was quite a surprise for us. This market place was popping. That was the best tostada I had ever tried! My in-laws who are from Mexico was also surprised how good the food was. The special shrimp one was our most favorite but the rest of the seafood was great too. Would definitely come back if I visit the... More

The Coyoacan market was a lot of fun to look around. Stopping by Tostadas de Coyoacan's blazing yellow stall, I ordered a watermelon drink, one bistek tostada, one cochinita pibil, and one ceviche (the latter was inexplicably canceled). Service was otherwise good and fast, and I like their system of ordering by marking down the items you want on a... More

If you wanna taste the Mexican flavor, one of the best options you have is Mercado de Coyoacan, "Las tostadas Coyoacan" is a mixture of color, flavor and tradition. Something you must try. Take the chance and eat delicious.

The tostadas here are absolutely delicious and great value for money. We sampled a wide range of their options, and all were delicious, particularly the seafood ones, which were very fresh. The mercardo is a short walk from the Frida Kahlo museum, so it makes for a great pit stop once you have checked out the museum.

I went with my Slovak fiance, fearing he would get ill from eating local food but he was fine! Super recommended, especially the campechana tostada (jaiba, shrimp etc). We also tried cochinita, picadillo and jaiba, they were all amazing. There was not a single free seat, it is really really busy so I would recommend asking for the bill as... More

I tasted shrimp and cochinita pibil (pork) tostadas. I visited the place i was pleasantly served by the waiters. Tostadas had awesome flavours and I ate them along horchata (rice, milk and cinnamon) water. It deserves a visit. the place was clean and a little bit crowded tough. Choose a weekday to go.

This is a must place to eat and it so memorable that I had to take taxi from Zona Rosa to just eat at this place. Everything is really excellent, just pick and point the items that looks good. Don't forget to try aguas there, there are so many flavors to chose from! I've tried five so far and agua... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Coyoacan
Once you step into Coyoacán (“Land of the Coyotes”) you'll find picturesque parks and cantinas that will transport you back to the colonial era thanks to the brick and stone details of the area. Iconic writers such as Trotsky and great painters like Frida Kahlo seeked refuge and inspiration in this area, and you can see the unique spirit of this neighborhood reflected in its colorful market where nieves, sopes and all kinds of traditional 'antojitos' are a must try. Restaurants and cafés throughout its peaceful paved streets contain traditional but unique murals and decorations, where one can enjoy a mezcal at noon or the best churros with a cup of coffee.
