I loved this place. We went for breakfast. Service was amazing and the food was great too. My girlfriend had the eggs in salsa with black beans on top and I had the thin steak with tortilla chips in salsa and refried beans. They also do great fresh juices. I would highly recommend the spiced hot chocolate from Oaxaca. Would... More

Went to this place with my brother who is a glorified foodie and I was impressed. The place is unassuming, and when I say "unassuming" I mean it literally. Be prepared to look for a place that sits inside an old building that looks more like a run down government office building. There are not even signs outside that can... More

The Mexican food is incredible. The seasoning right at the point without being overwhelming. The wine chart is ample, with a very good selection of Mexican wines, but the most amazing are the prices. Based on my experience never more than twice the store prices. The same can be said about the tequila, mezcal and beer selection. Finally the service... More

What can we say about Nicos! From the table-side serving of Guaco to the freshness of every food item, it was amazing. Unlike other reviews, they did have an English speaking server so we had no difficulty in choosing from the menu. The dry soup and liquid soup were out of the world. Must visit!

Cockroaches on the table!!!, came out from the bread basket, complained to the waiter , said it was not possible, we emptied the basket on the table and came out one more, the guy just tried to justify the injustifiable, no manager approached to offer at least an apology. It was a disgusting experience ever, we will never come back... More

If it's flash and dazzle you're after, look elsewhere. And if you want to see or be seen, this spot likely isn't for you. But if you're searching for authentic, casera cooking with both a firm grip on Mexico's culinary history and an eye fixed on its future, Nico's should not be missed. A word of caution, though: You'll need... More

Don't expect fine dining, this is neighbourhood style food. Also don't expect a word of english, even google translate is of minimal help here. Have the dry soup, at least I think that's what it's called. It's more like a lasagne, and it's divine. Mama Nico's hospitality is fabulous and that translates beyond language borders. Book in advance and settle... More

It is possible that you cannot book because nobody answers the phone, so, at your own risk go but be prepared for a long wait. After you have a table assigned be prepared for another long wait until the waiter comes to your table and asks for the drinks. After another long wait other guy asks you what do you... More

Nico's is fantastic. The service matches the quality of the food. It's well worth the trip to this neighborhood to experience Nico's. Once inside you're going to experience a culinary delight that rivals any restaurant in Mexico City. The top rating on TA is well deserved and not misguided.

Awesome fresh food. The best part was the fresh guacamole prepared right in front of you and it was perfect!

Staying in Azcapotzalco

Neighbourhood Profile
Azcapotzalco
Home of the Tepeneca people, Azcapotzalco has remained faithful to its roots even as time has passed. Beautiful details abound throughout its gardens, houses and other historical buildings such as the Casa de la Cultural. The works of Siqueiros, Diego Rivera and O'Gorman are in abundance and should not be missed while exploring the area. Walk through the streets and have a taste of the neighborhood, which can be found at the bottom of a good cup of coffee or a scoop of an artisanal ice cream to cool down. Once the sun goes down, there’s nothing better than going out to visit classic cantinas to grab a drink where the nostalgia of the beautiful atmosphere comes to life.
