The food is good, the service is fast and attentive, one of my favorite places and certainly one of the best russian restaurants in Mexico City

Visited this place on a Saturday in mid April 2016 (two people) for lunch. Were served Borsch, "Vinigret salad" and "Spring salad", pelmeni, vareniki, kvass and tea with Honey Cake. Borsh and Vinigret were good and could be called authentic. Spring salad, though, had nothing to do with Russian cuisine, just some sliced cucumbers and ubiquitous shredded salad leaves "lechuga"... We had a very good meal at Kolobok. The service was very good and the waiter was patient with my broken Spanish. The only odd thing was that nobody appeared to speak Russian.

Russian food is not the first thing that comes to your mind where you are visiting Mexico City, however, if you live there it might be a choice for change. The restaurant is not too large, let’s say it has a “friendly” size. Dishes are well prepared and tasty, for example the ones I order: a solyanka soup made of... More

DF has no shortage of fantastic restaurants but sometimes lacks really authentic ethnic places. So my expectations for Kolobok weren't super high. But I was so pleasantly surprised! The food is legit, homemade style Russian and Ukrainian cuisine - salads with mayonnaise and pickled herring, pickles, varenyky, pelmeni, holubsti, kotlety, todo! Check it out for a nice change of pace.
