We spent an evening with friends at this nice restaurant in their amazing garden. Food was delicious and properly made with attentive service and good sized portions. Recommended!

We were staying in an abnb casita two blocks away and found this wonderful place while walking to the zócalo one day. e ate breakfast/lunch here about five times in seven days. The atmosphere was just lovely. We ate in the patio area each time as the weather was coolish and sunny. We loved the pancakes, eggs, huevos rancheros, pan... More

Lovefuly, peaceful, romantic and quiet garden. Great personnel, well trained, pleasant, extremely helpful and willing to share stories and tips regarding the area, history, sightseeing, traditional food and even other good places to eat in the neighborhood. The food was absolutely fantastic. We'll return for sure. :)

This restaurant is on a quiet, flower-filled street in beautiful Coyoacan. Tables are set in a small shaded courtyard that seems like a Mexican dream. The wait staff didn't seem to speak english so go with someone who can interpret for you. Despite the language barrier, they were incredibly welcoming and eager to explain the unique ingredients and cooking techniques.

Such a peaceful place to have any meal or coffee. Embedded in an old house, the patio remains quiet and peaceful making your meals even more enjoyable

We stumbled on this restaurant just wandering around this area of Coyoacan on Sundsay. Nice quiet backstreet, lovely librería/gelería/restaurant, with a nice menu. We did not have time to eat a full meal there this visit, but it is on our list for this coming Enero.

Located on the quaint street Francisco Sosa, near the Convento de Santa Catalina, in Villa Coyoacan, Restaurante La Pause offers a Sunday brunch with authentic Mexican specialties in a charming location. As I maintain that it is rare to find both authentic and reasonably priced Mexican food outside of Mexico, I generally hold out until I am in Mexico to... More

Beautiful courtyard, great food, but check you bill. My waiter paid himself a 40% tip by altering my credit card slip.

Staying in Coyoacan

Neighbourhood Profile
Once you step into Coyoacán (“Land of the Coyotes”) you'll find picturesque parks and cantinas that will transport you back to the colonial era thanks to the brick and stone details of the area. Iconic writers such as Trotsky and great painters like Frida Kahlo seeked refuge and inspiration in this area, and you can see the unique spirit of this neighborhood reflected in its colorful market where nieves, sopes and all kinds of traditional 'antojitos' are a must try. Restaurants and cafés throughout its peaceful paved streets contain traditional but unique murals and decorations, where one can enjoy a mezcal at noon or the best churros with a cup of coffee.
