After seeing great reviews of this place and being on a walking tour of the area we decided to stop by for some authentic Mexican food. We visited around 3:00pm and we were about the only ones in the restaurant. My spanish is not great, but not horrible by any means. I asked the waiter to suggest the two best... More

This place has authentic and excellent food. The chef came out and explained the different dishes, even explained how many were prepared. We sampled all of the dishes which were all unique and flavorful.

I recently had an amazing meal at Turtux with colleagues from the US, Canada and Mexico. It was without a doubt one of the best meals of my life and I was not alone on this thought. The Chef and Owner Margarita Carrilloa came out to explain the dishes, the wholesome ingredients and the techniques to prepare it. It was... More

I was there recently and had great dinner. I did not want to spend to much on wine so I ordered one mezcal with each course. I had an appetizer and entree. When the bill came my food was $30 USD and I was shocked to see that the two were $18 USD each. I wish I had been given... More

The place is inside a small shopping area. Very nice place with colorful decoration. Authentic Mexican cuisine. The Chef also has a cookbook that you could buy at the restaurant to try your own Mexican recipes at home. Drink the "agua fresca", highly recommended!

We were visiting Mexico and our local hosts took us for dinner to this great restaurant: it was most probably the best dining experience I personally had anywhere ! All courses tasted exceptional, all flavors and spices were in balance, and all were delivered at a perfect pace. The chef even came to our table and explained the origin of... More

Each course was perfectly presented, timed, and delicious. The service was outstanding and an added bonus was the Chef coming to our table, checking on our meals, explaining the recipes and answering any questions. I will be hard pressed to find a better meal anywhere and want to eat all my meals there next time I visit the city! What... More

The owner of this restaurant visits each table several times during your meal and, takes the time to explain the meal and how's it's prepared. The food is delicious including homemade ice creams for dessert!

Margarita Carrillo is one of Mexico's most highly regarded chefs. She is the author of "Tamales y Atoles" and is working on the "Mexican Food Bible". She has cooked for the US President Barrack Obama at the latest G20 conference. Her new restaurant is a wonderful homage to the very best of Mexican food. We had a lovely lunch on... More

A return visit was even better than the first. This time absolutely everything was perfect and we had a wonderful dinner. The octopus carpaccio is a work of art to look at and a delight to eat and ever so fine and refined. Sopes with cochinita del pibil was intensely tasty, the mole verde with pistachio accompanying a turkey was... More
