My husband and I came to CDMX excited to sample some of the city's best cuisine, and Contramar was our favourite spot. The food is wonderfully simple and unpretentious, but bursting with freshness and bright flavours. The tuna tostadas justify their reputation. The octopus aguachile and rollos crujientes were perfect. One warning is that the fish in the fish tacos... More

I lived in Mexico City and went last year. This year, my mother went because I was ill and said it was incredible as well. Consistent, clearly.

Certainly one of the highlights of our 5 day stop in Mexico City. We had such good food and Contramar was one of the standouts. If you love sea food, it is a must. Everything from the octopus to the red and green fish are delish.

One of the reasons we go back to Mexico City again and again. Contramar's food is prepared with fresh ingredients and fine flavours - each time we've gone we try something new and it never disappoints. But the biggest reason to go are the tuna toatados and the mascal margaritas. Excellent service , efficient and attentive. Waiters know the menu.

This is a local lunch spot- meaning noon til 7pm that peters out an hour or so after last orders. I believe last reservation is 6:30 or 7:00 on weekends. Crowded, with just about a foot between tables, it is a FABULOUS place for people watching and inhaling the vibrancy of Mexico City. While menus are available in English, AND... More

We stopped for a late lunch. I had the most amazing ahi I've ever eaten!! It was on a tostada. Melts in the mouth. All food amazing. Go early for dinner on Friday's and saturdays. I be back there!

I had two of the best meals of my life in Mexico City. One was at El Cardenal, near Zocalo Square. The second was at Contramar. I ate at Contramar four months ago, in November 2016. I still think back on my meal there with great fondness. Literally, I don't think I have ever eaten fish more delicious than at... More

why everyone raves about this place. The menu is filled with fresh seafood choices. The staff is ultra-attentive. The room has an energy of happy satisfied patrons. The prices fair and reasonable for the quality of the fare.
