Entering through stone arches, our group of friends came to a very large courtyard, and our table was set on one side of the courtyard (covered over around the edges, but open to the air in the center). There are many beautifully tended plants in the courtyard. It was another great meal of traditional Mexican food, with wonderful company, and... More

San Angel Inn is located to the southwest of Mexico City, in the historic neighborhood of San Ángel next to famous Coyoacán District and close to Frida Kahlo Museum. It is famous for its Mexican cuisine and historical Mexican-colonial architecture. Beautiful interior decorations, its spacious gardens, and fountains create a unique atmosphere

Delicious breakfast at San Angel Inn, their tea is really good and is the best croissant I have tried in all Mexico, real french croissant. Also their breakfast are really delicious and prices are fair.

The restaurant ambience and decor was outstanding. We ate dinner in the garden, beautiful setting and very romantic. The service was lousy. We had to call a server to order every course and drinks. None of them speak English and if you ask them for a recommendation on dishes, they just nod their head. Food was very disappointing. I was... More

The San Angel Inn is in the beautiful neighborhood of San Angel and the Inn itself, a former hacienda, has delightful gardens, fountains and garden seating to enjoy it all in. BUT apart from cocktails and or antojitos I will NEVER again dine there. From an over dressed/drenched Cesar salad to inedible lobster bisque/artichoke cream to lukewarm stuffed crabs ,... More

Coming to this restaurant, the courtyard is enchanting and certainly the most preferred seating. Part of the court yard is even available for smokers. in the weekends lunch gets really started around 14.00-15.00 o'clock and, as a foreigner, watching the other guests is part of the great experience. The food and drinks (try the margarita!) are good and there is... More

San Angel Inn is an old classic, from an era of Mexico that has long gone. Tasty food in a open garden nice environment at San Angel Inn is a great experience. I highly recommend it!

Best thing about the restaurant is the scenery...everything else is quite average. The meat dishes were ok but i could not say the same for the seafood. Much better options available in Mexico City.

Worst food ever for its price. Really over my budget for a 100$ pasta.I recommend not to come to this restaurant.

This place is so beautiful! I love the food. I had the Roast Duck with Blackberry sauce which was superb ( sauce was thickened which probably can be reduced with red wine). Great service from the waiters. Very professional. Price is expected to be high range but it definitely matched the good service and good food. Highly recommended for luncheon... More

Neighbourhood Profile
San Angel
San Ángel is known for its artistic vibe and elegant details displayed throughout its streets, antique residences and haciendas where famous actors like Consuelo Velázquez, Capulina and other prominent families used to live and that have now been turned into beautiful galleries, cafés and restaurants. An array of cultural and artistic activities are organized in the neighborhood, but it is on Saturdays when the San Jacinto Plaza and surroundings really shine as artists gather to exhibit a variety of arts and crafts, from paintings to clothing.
