We dropped by Del Jardin on several occasions during our 2 week stay in Oaxaca and enjoyed a cold Victoria beer or limonada served with their complimentary peanuts. It was the perfect place to watch the activities taking place each day in the Zócalo (eg. music, parades, people). Note: you will be approached frequently by vendors but with a polite,... More

Del Jarden sits right on Oaxaca' s zocolo. They have a dinning area outside and inside the restaurant. We sat outside the restaurant. That was a mistake. We experienced a steady stream of beggars, trinket sellers and musicians, all begging for money. This place like all of the restaurants on the xocalo is a tourist trap. While the food was... More

The location is amazing but the food and service is just average. Just try a beer or a coffee to watch people pass by.

Better than many...a place to sit and watch the diversity that is Oaxaca. It's worth a return visit.

Walked in at 2pm Xmas day. Empty tables outside, completely empty inside. Asked the bartender if we could have drinks and watch a game. He said sure. Brought us the drinks. Minutes later, before we'd had time to reorder drinks, a woman came over and said it was time to order food. We explained that we'd just eaten and were... More

I have sat at one of these tables enjoying breakfast or a coffee more times than I can imagine over many years, watching life pass by in the Zocalo and chatting with the vendors, waiters, children, musicians, and others. I don´t come for the food, obviously, there is better elsewhere. But, it is a part of Oaxaca not to be... More

Bar Jardín is a classic spot for people of Oaxaca. Maybe it is because is located on perhaps, one of the most important place in the city, el Zocalo, with a view of the Palacio de Gobierno. The food is good, if you know what to ask (Tortas de Chile Relleno my favorite) and you can drink a cool beer... More

On Flores Magon, street level across form the zocalo, stuffed in with four or five other restaurants/cafes in this tight little area. The tlayuda was great. The tuna stuffed avocado just so-so.

This restaurant was only a few blocks from where we were staying and we ended up eating breakfast here a few times. The food and service was very good on both our visits. They have really good hot cocoa! I wanted to mention that I saw that they had nachos on their menu and one afternoon I had a bit... More

We dined there frequently during our stay. Located in the Zocolo, the people watching was superb.... dancing, bands, families strolling arm in arm and the best margaritas! We loved the marinated carrots and peanuts.
