We had a nice experience at Pitiona. Local fresh ingredients prepared in a modern way. The service was very good (although the night before we tried to go and place was empty and were turned away without a reservation...the night we did go w reservation there were also many empty tables'

This is not a restaurant we enjoyed.. Some of the food is interesting but some of it is actually pretentious... We may have been there on an off night...

This is a highly rated restaurant and deservedly so, but the food lacked excitement - at least the dishes we tried. We tried Tiraditos - really disappointing - very small and little flavour. My partner had a mixed salad - it was fine. The smoked vegetable salad was better - the dressing was interesting, but again, not as good as... More

Everything is clean, we were surrounded by very good selected art, great burnt ceramics, special plates. The food was exquisite, it can compare with the best French restaurants in France. Considering that we three were full of admiration for the cook and his creations, the prices are very reasonable, although for Mexico not cheap.

We ate here after being unable to get a reservation at Casa Oaxaca. They made the suggestion as a "sister restaurant". The food was good though much of it was based more on "presentation" than exceptional taste. And the portions in comparison to the cost were rather skimpy. With al of the options available in Oaxaca, I would probably not... More

On our first night in Oaxaca we had fun eating here. The restaurant decor was inviting and the staff was friendly and accommodating. The food was an inventive presentation of local dishes and nicely presented. We particularly enjoyed several of the shrimp dishes.

I live in Oaxaca, and was so impressed by my visit to this restaurant about 2.5 years ago that I brought my entire family there last night for dinner. What a disappointment! The restaurant has been expanded into a cavernous, noisy, non-intimate facility that handles group reservations and celebrations. The food, compared to what it once was, is mediocre at... More

This restaurant is good but did not come close to Casa Oaxaca (a sister restaurant if I am not mistaken). If you have several nights in town, I'd recommend it. If time is short, head straight to Casa Oaxaca.

This was my first introduction to Oaxacan cuisine and I enjoyed every minute of it. We came here for a late lunch as soon as we got into the city. It was easy to make a reservation on-line. We chose the six course tasting with drink pairings, totally worth every penny. My husband and I got different courses and pairings,... More
