El Moro is as good as food on Cozumel gets. Period. El Moro has been #1 on our top 5 Cozumel restaurant list since we discovered it 4 years ago and we’ve been to the island since 1987. Do what we do: don’t even pick up the menu, ask Ray or Helser what they recommend and order whatever they say.... More

Still the best! After 32 years of dining here, it is still great! Small family owned from 1977! Located back in the city, just ask the taxi drivers. Great food at very reasonable prices! Our favorite is the grilled Yucatan Pork Chops! We have never had a bad meal here! A must try place!

We have returned to Cozumel for a 2 week stay and have already been twice in the first week. The second time we we went was with a couple we met who had never been. They agree that it's the best. The family owners are so friendly and endearing. We had the dinner for 2 on the first trip and the... More

Fabulous food in a family owned restaurant. The beef burritos were to die for. The pico was very unique and yummy! So cozy and clean.

We always visit El Moro when we are in Cozumel and my husband says it is the best Soupa de lima he has ever had. I love the fajitas. The owner is awesome and always remembers us.

My husband and I are still talking about the perfection of El Moro. The owner, Ray, must have hugged every person that walked through his doors. The food was beyond good. I had the mole chicken enchiladas and my husband had the Suckling Pig special on a Sunday. They were authentic and delicious! The chips and salsa were really good... More

While it was a bit of a drive to get here, it was totally worth getting away from the crowded touristy areas to have a low-key and delicious dinner with Ray and his family. My friend and I enjoyed the standard guac and chips, along with margaritas and seafood dishes. Everything was great but the real standout was the Mayan... More

El Moro remains our favorite restaurant to eat out at with friends. Loud, crowded, full of life Ray and his family go to extremes to make everyone feel welcome and participate in the feeling of family and community that define this restaurant. Not the easiest place to find hidden in the upper streets of San Miguel the experience is worth... More

I've only been to EL Moro once so maybe I just haven't developed the affection for the place that a lot of people (including many of my friends) seem to have. That being said, I found no faults whatsoever with my experience at El Moro. The food and service are certainly above average and the beer is icy cold. The... More
