We searched out this restaurant because of the great reviews, I guess this was before the latest bunch of poor reviews. Turns out it was within minutes of our hotel, bonus. Spanish menu was an issue, but hey, we're in Mexico so we did the classic, "we'll have what they are having". Great decision. $4.00 later we had an excellent... More

Went to this place bc of the reviews. Had the large ceviche mixto. The taste was good but the freshness could be better.. Their prices are not that much cheaper than moderately priced restaurants in Merida. For example, the ceviche at Apoala is of much higher quality for slightly more money and the atmosphere and service is terrific at Apoala!... More

Heard great things about Marlin Azul. None of it was true. Lousy service and equally bad shrimp. Marlin Azul = avoid.

Cute little hole in the wall that has become our go- to lunch place in Merida. Really delicious shrimp ceviche plus the mixed ceviche. Breaded fish, however, is our favorite. Sweet large portion of white fish almost panko fried, Japanese style. Very reasonable and also sweet waiters.

Had the shrimp ceviche. It was very good. Perfect lighter lunch to beat the heat, especially when paired with a cold beer. Liked it so much we went back and had it again the next day. Prices are low and most of the clientele were locals.

If you are in the neighborhood and want an inexpensive but fresh seafood lunch, this place is fine. We enjoyed the ceviche.

We had shrimp soup and mojo de ajo (garlic marinated) fish (think it was marlin). The soup was tasteless. It came with corn chips. The fish was served with a tossed salad with a nice mustard based dressing, rice, and machine-made corn tortillas. The rice was way too salty, but we managed to get it down anyway. We had fresh... You cannot get fresher fish than this unless you catch it and eat it on the boat. Great ceviche, espceally the octopus in it's own ink.

This was the foodie part of our vacation, overall we were very pleased with our selection and wanted to share thoughts. 1. Marlin Azul: hidden gem that could be easily missed. You can dine in, but we saw many people taking out because the space is quite small and it has a hole-in-the wall feel. What we ate: guacamole and... More
