Chef Marvin has done it again with his home style Jamaican cuisine! We came here for dinner tonight and it was so comforting! Highly recommend coconut shrimp (you actually taste the coconut!), fried chicken(so juicy!), mac and cheese and the ESCOVITCH FISH!!! Chef Marvin and his team are so hospitable and make you feel like you’re at their home. We love it here and can’t wait to be back!

Stopped by for fried chicken and it did not disappoint. Juicy and tender straight off the fryer that made for an excellent late evening beer snack.
We also ordered a side of fried plantains which were also pretty good!
Fried chicken is hard to find in Playa. This will definitely satisfy a craving.
The very friendly owner also has a sister restaurant called Rockas Jamaican Kitchen (Vietnamese-Jamaican fusion, what a cool combination) which we plan to visit soon.

We have been fans of Rockas since the beginning before the opening of the fabulous Rockas Beach Town Grill, but I must say it is nice to go back to where it all started in the original little place that is now Roxy's Little Fish Shack.
It has all of the amazing service and flavours we have come to expect from the wonderful owners of Rockas, but on a smaller and more casual level with different menu items. We came a couple weeks earlier with family and it was outstanding, so back we went bringing friends along. Chef Marvin did it again. The food was incredible. I had the Jamaican Curry Chicken and it was a taste experience. Our server Bruce was fun and attentive as he was the time before while the bartender makes one great margarita. Chef Marvin stopped by the table a couple of times which is always a welcome touch. So do yourselves a favour and go. I know I will be stopping in again at least twice before going home.

Wow what can I say about this place. Visited 2yrs ago when it was called Rockas Jamaican Kitchen and it was exceptional then, now this place is phenomenal. Marvin the chef and his staff are unbelievable with how they cater for you. I went to celebrate my birthday with my partner and Marvin and the staff pulled out all the stops to make it a night to remember. The food is on point 10/10, the drinks 10/10 and if you wanna get mash up ask for the Fire water (Jb Jamaican rum). The escovitch Red Snapper is a must along side the fried chicken. Even man like Mr KFC would be jealous. I would highly recommend this place to anyone whom wishes to sample authentic Jamaican cooked food whilst in Playa del Carmen you will not be disappointed.

Great food with amazing music. The employees were very accommodating and provided great recommendations. The half chicken was made fresh to order, the mac & cheese was cheesy, and their passion fruit drink is excellent.

Best food I’ve had in PDC since I arrived, the red snapper was full of flavor and fried to perfection!! The chicken wings were some of the most delicious wings I’ve ever had, the staff is so attentive and made the experience 10 times better!! Highly recommend you check this spot out if you’re in PDC you will not be disappointed!!

We had walked past here a couple of times and finally decided to pop in. First off I just wanted to say that the waitress that took care of us was so sweet and attentive. She went over and above as did every person who worked there that we encountered. Even if the food wasn't excellent the staff alone is worth the visit. We started with some coconut shrimp and it was excellent. I had the chicken curry and it was the perfect amount of heat and spice with potatoes and carrots and rice and veggies. I ate until I couldn't fit anymore in and I still have enough left over for lunch and likely dinner today. My Hubs had the grilled shrimp over potatoes and his was really good as well. Don't miss this Gem of a restaurant, it is delicious and so obviously well run by the attitudes of the wait staff that work here. Two enthusiastic thumbs up.

DO. NOT. SLEEP. ON. THIS. PLACE. It is amazing and the food highlight of my (and my husband’s) vacation! We ended up here twice because it was so delicious. The service is amazing; attentive and friendly. Chef Marvin makes you feel at home and the kitchen staff is also lights out…and I can’t leave out the mascot, kitty Roxy! Night one we had the wings (we’re from Buffalo, NY so wings are our thing) and they were better and more crispy and spicy than home. I had the chicken curry and my husband had the fried chicken and both dishes were ridiculously good. Day two we went back for a snack; ended up with wings again; coconut shrimp and the Cajun shrimp and fries. All a delight. I cannot wait to get back to PDC and Roxy’s!!

Roxy's Little Fish Shack in Playa del Carmen keeps pulling me back! I've dined here twice now, and each time, I'm blown away. The escovitch fish and curry chicken are simply phenomenal. The fish has that perfect blend of tang and spice, while the curry chicken is rich and bursting with authentic Jamaican flavors.
The vibe is just as amazing as the food, with great music setting the perfect backdrop for a relaxed meal. Chef Marvin, the owner, is incredibly friendly and makes everyone feel like family. I’ll definitely be back many more times – Roxy’s is a true gem in Playa!

We have been coming to Rockas for quite a few years now. We love Steph and Marve. They treat us like family when we come. The main restaurant moved to a great new location but the old one changed focus to more fried and down to earth food. Fried fish and chicken. Good stuff. Different focus but also really really good.

Really good food , we had chicken curry and Cajun shrimp , both tasted amazing . Also the starter (bbq wings) was excellent.
Really good service costs and nice staff. On a quiet street away from all the throwers and vendors but still close (just one street down seeds main street).
Great value , 800 Mexican pesos (about 400 sec) for starter , main course , drink and dessert (drink two beers each, shared starter and dessert).
Really worth a visit, we want to go back! Ă„

It was our first time eating at Roxy’s and we will definitely be coming back.
The food was delicious! We had the coconut shrimp starter, fish tacos (put a slice of fried plantain in them (you’ll need to order it separately, but trust me, it’s worth it!) and the Cajun shrimp dinner with a serving of coleslaw - and each of the dishes surprised us with a delicious twist: from a delectable tamarind/ginger salsa with a *secret ingredient* to a dash of cinnamon in the coleslaw that woke it up beautifully).
However, the best part of the visit was the hospitality and ambience. Chef Marvin greeted us with a heartfelt “welcome home!” and both him and his staff made sure we felt like that’s exactly where we were. He was sitting with some friends at a table nearby and it truly felt like we were invited to his home. Plus, everybody was loving on our German Shepherd, which made us smile all the more throughout our visit!
What an enjoyable evening we had! :) Definitely coming back.

Great food and service from start to finish. The owner was friendly and chatty, we enjoyed the chicken curry & red snapper. Food portions were good and the cocktails fairly strong. All in all great value.

Very welcoming and caring staff. Typical atmosphere, with reggae and an open kitchen to see how it's done. The food is delicious and really filling. We were able to eat very well in a small street that was quieter than 5th Avenue. This is a place that I highly recommend!
