This restaurant has a perfect relaxed, beachy, artsy vibe. One of the things I loved about this restaurant is that it is all outdoors though the bar area and some of the tables are under a roof. The stuffed poblano pepper with cheese was incredible! This dish goes down as one of my top favorite meals ever...and I'm not even... More

This restaurant is so incredible! It is romantic and charming and delicious! There were two guitar players that were so good, our waiter was so awesome we hugged him when we left! I recommend the "red chicken" but honestly everything I took a bite of was incredible. The best meal I had in Tulum! Good wine too. Don't be intimidated... More

An international crowd of expats and in-the-know vacationers all seem to enjoy the fresh interpretations on regional Mexican fair in this eclectic jungle-side hangout. The the floor to ceiling chalkboard menu near the kitchen takes a few minutes to get through because everything looks so good. The Ceviche Verde, a Tulum regional inspiration, has a bright, fresh flavor with green... More

Stopped in for late lunch, almost had the place to myself. A trio was playing great music - such a waste! I had guacamole salad which had big chunks of avacado & tomato along with - surprise! - olives. It was delicious. One note, like lots of places in Tulum it's cash only here. Check the exchange rate as it... More

The hotel staff at Zamas recommended that we go to el tabano for dinner and we are SO GLAD that they did. The food could not have tasted better. We had coconut shrimp and a fish with green sauce over it... I forget the name. DO NOT MISS this one its an absolute gem and best food we had!!!

This is high end cuisine. Not beach front, but open air and fresh food. Cocktails, beer and food was good, but pricey. Worth a visit if you tire of tacos.

El Tábano is another restaurant that has the open-air concept. This means you're sweating very unattractively but can sip on a fancy cucumber mint green juice to cool down while you peruse their huge blackboards covered in the daily features. We got a cactus salad (more like green beans than leafy texture) but it was covered in gooey queso, a... More

Amazing. We liked it even better than Hartwood! Fresh local options, indoor outdoor location. Out favorite in the area.
