Recommended by our host. Food delicious, reasonable price, popular with the locals. Typical Mexican food with a hint of Chiapas. We had our lunch around 3 pm so easy to find a place to sit and enjoy the street activity such as a roving bottle xylophone. The restaurant is down Jupiter Sur (south) street, not on the main highway (some... More

This was a great spot for a meal - and an escape from the more tourist-y spots in the zona hotelera! We got a little burned out from waits and crowds at the hipster spots in Tulum and asked one of our taxi drivers where he eats in Tulum's centro. He told us about El Rincon Chiapaneco. And he was... We eat here a lot. The menu is extensive and the prices are low. Great for breakfast, lunch or dinner, though it can be kind of hot mid-day. Typical Mexican fare, but most meals are served with rice, beans and shredded lettuce salad, and include a delicious agua de fruta or other beverage. Try the piña con chaya (pineapple and... More

Some fellow travelers had been here and suggested it for more authentic food. It is a popular place with locals and it can be hard to get a table at times. We ordered the meals that were 55 pesos (at the time of publishing this review). It included a large refresco frutas - fruit juice. I had the pineapple, it... More

This place does the best breakfast and lunch, it's a local place, cheap, no frills, amazing food. I'd recommend sopes, panuchos, salbutes and the carne asada though everything is really good.

If you want to try a real traditional tulum food, this is the place to go! The food is traditional, the agua de frutas are amazing and fresh, the people are very kind and honest! Not a gringos place 😊 i suggest to try enchilladas de mole..wooow! It is very cheap and the quantity of food is xxl! Definitely the... More

We have eaten here twice and both times were impressed with the food. Fast, hot, fresh and tasty. The salbutes, tostadas and sobes were really good and only 7 pesos each. The atmosphere is typical of an authentic cheap place, hot and sticky, but for the food and price, it's not an issue. We saw many locals eating here which... More

Loved this restaurant so much that we came for dinner 2 nights in a row! Super authentic, delicious, and cheap! Get the al pastor tacos, pollo panuchos, and piña y chaya agua fresca. Panuchos are like tostadas with blacks beans between the crispy tortillas topped with shredded chicken, pickled onions, cabbage, tomato, and avocado...amazing! The al pastor tacos were flavorful,... We ended up eating here three times in the week that we stayed. HUGE agua frescas for $35 pesos? YES PLEASE. The only downside and I really, really, really hope the owners/operators see this is that underneath that plastic tarp it is like being cooked in a crock pot and they need to add at least three or four more... I was introduced to this restaurant on my last night in Tulum and what a shame that was because I would have eaten here every day if I could have! The food is amazing, arrives fast, and is SO INEXPENSIVE: a big authentic meal and a drink, 100 pesos. This is the perfect place to sample a variety of authentic... More
