Located in a lovely old colonial building just off El Jardin, the location and locale couldn't be better. Just inside the entrance is the main dining area with a bar area behind; I think there is a third area behind the bar, but we did not get to see it. Smoking is permitted in the bar and, unfortunately, that is... More

First the service was horrible. Left us sitting without taking drink order. Finally took drink and food order together and never told the bar about one of the drinks. There were only two couples. The wait station was by our table, we had to ask them to clear the dirty dishes. Paid with credit card, and they forgot all about... More

This is one of our favorites restaurants in SMA. We come back every year for the past 10 years and we always had a great meal. The setting is also one of the most beautiful in the town, love the red petals over the fountain.

The ambience was wonderful and the meal delicious. We had tried the short ribs on a previous occasion and loved them, so decided to return. I thought the service was wonderful and the food absolutely lived up to every expectation. We will be back when we return to San Miguel next year.

I stayed with a good friend in San Miguel who's been coming here every winter for 16 years. She chose to take me here my last night for dinner as one of her favorite restaurants. The room is elegant, in a covered courtyard with high "ceilings"/awning over much of the room. One entire wall is living plants and has a... More

The lunch we had there was excellent--especially the tuna taco salad. The Restaurant was busy at lunch time (comida), but the service was prompt. The settings is very relaxing--when the sun is low enough, the roof slides open to lighten up the place. Although most of the crowd were Americans when we were there, there were some Mexican guests.

We love the Reataurant. This is our special place for lunch. It is located off of the Jardin. It is very quiet and serene. The food is wonderful and the Carmel sundae is magical.....even if you don't want lunch this should not be missed!

Relaxed and gracious setting by the courtyard fountain was a welcoming spot for our afternoon lunch. Service was prompt and attentive. While the food was very good, (make special note of the brussel sprouts/kale salad) it was more about the relaxed atmosphere in the courtyard, ample time for discussion and conversation, tasty well prepared cocktails and with the peso to... All six of us enjoyed our meals of poached eggs, 3 scrambled eggs, and 2 salmon burgers which were the best of the lot. The brussel sprouts /l kale salad was a delicious side as well. Cocktails were good also.

THE RESTAURANT, housed in one of San Miguel’s most elegantly colonial settings at Sollano 16, opened in February 2008 featuring Chef Donnie Masterton’s world class cuisine. It is located just steps away from the main square of San Miguel de Allende, the prettiest and most restored/written-about Colonial city in all of Mexico. Offering a full bar, it serves lunch and dinner five days a week in a sun-dappled eighteen century Moroccan courtyard, as well as in their elegant dining salon.Serving global comfort good, THE RESTAURANT’s menu reflects the changing seasons with a focus on the simplicity of fine ingredients. The Chef collaborates with local organic growers, dairy farmers and ranchers to procure the freshest, highest quality and responsibly raised product available. Catering to today’s more experienced, adventurous and health conscious diners, The Restaurant will emphasize quality in food and customer service…as well as a more involved relationship with respect to our food and the land it comes from.
