We always enjoy our meals at the Masons Arms - it's a must whenever we're staying in Devon. Atmosphere is excellent, although it is more of a restaurant now than a pub. All tables seem reserved if you arrive unexpectedly, so need to book in...More

We visited Branscombe on the way home from visiting friends, having seen it in the National Trust guide book. I am not sure exactly what we expected, but we were a little disappointed. The mill was closed and if there is anything of interest it...More

We stopped off for lunch before heading through the village to Branscombe beach. The food was spot-on, the service was friendly and prompt, the local beer just the job and the prices reasonable. Well worth a visit.

We called in for a drink on our walk from Beer and back. The drinks were good, people friendly and helpful (we had forgotten our map). The food looked excellent, would definately go back and eat

We stayed as guests in this hotel, and ate here both nights for dinner. The food was delicious and reasonably priced- a lot of it is sourced locally and the specials menu changes daily. The chef here really knows his business; I had a wonderful...More

Having just visited the Masons for the second time, it once again lived up to expectations. As long as you don't set these to high you will not be disappointed. Tables are a bit cramped up and they do cram you in, but overall I...More

I cant fault the quality of the food here and the menue is interesting and beautifully cooked. Naturally being by the sea it makes use of the freshest fish and local produce.

Description
Nestling in the heart of Branscombe, one of Britain's most picturesque villages, is the award winning, 14th Century, The Masons Arms. This charming thatched Inn dates back to 1350 - a cider house turned country pub - and the men who cut the stone for Exeter Cathedral drank here, hence the name.

With only a leisurely ten minute stroll to Branscombe Beach, The Masons Arms offers an ideal base to escape the stresses of modern life and enjoy the magical vista of sea, beaches and the spectacular walks offered by the ninety five miles of Devon and Dorset's Jurassic Coast.

The authentic interiors ooze character with timber frames, low beamed ceilings, pine cladding, whitewashed walls and a huge roaring log fire. Our award winning Restaurant offers an exciting and creative menu in relaxed fine dining surroundings. The Masons Arms kitchen brigade are dedicated to sourcing the very best of local Dartmoor produce. The cooking is classy yet simple, perfect for a special meal or relaxing Country lunch. We serve as many as six locally brewed bitters and the finest wines from around the world.

The 21 bedrooms at the Masons Arms Branscombe, are cosy, stylish and inviting, blending comfort with character.

The Masons Arms has been awarded a FOUR STAR rating under the Inn category by Quality in Tourism.
