This had been highly recommended before leaving home and was to be the highlight of the journey. The grounds are quite striking and interesting. The food was very ordinary or even a bit less. The journey to get there is fairly long and not particularly...More

I was skeptical to drive over a dirt road just to eat what I thought was American Faire. I was absolutely wrong and can't wait to go back again. The cold cucumber soup is served with toasted almonds and pickled vegetables. The natural juices of...More

We LOVED it here. It is very aesthetically pleasing, kudos to the designers. All open air seating, we were sat in three different sections for our three different visits. I don't think there is any bad seating location in the Field Kitchen or the Bar...More

The place is a ways outside of San Jose del Cabo but worth the ride. Enchanting grounds, simple atmosphere, food that you can't go wrong with. Even the bathrooms are inviting.

We went for lunch so we could wander around and enjoy the gardens. You get to see everything growing that you'll have on your plate . . . except the meat which is raised on a small ranch owned by them. Everything is field to...More

We made reservations online months in advance of our visit. It's my understanding that it is nearly impossible to get reservations close to a visit. Can't hurt to see if the hotel can make it happen for you....

I have a 9pm reservation for dinner in a few weeks (anything earlier is booked!) Is it still worthwhile if I'm arriving after the sun goes down? Or am I better off making a breakfast reservation?

Forget breakfast...9PM is fine, if you want to look around just get there a little earlier...but dinner is well worth it. They have live music (actually very good Latin jazz), not too loud, etc., etc. Dinner is the only... More

( Closed Mondays) Floras Field kitchen is about handmade food using our farm fresh ingredients. Our goal is to create a healthy family meal with a sense of place. Our day begins at four in the morning when Jose the baker arrives to fire the wood oven. Working with sourdough cultures and pre ferments he makes loaves of Pain L'ancienne baguette, ciabatta, sourdough, focaccia, whole wheat and herb breads. Chefs, cooks, stewards, the butcher and farm hands begin arriving after first light. Throughout the morning produce comes in to be washed and prepped while the line gets fired up to prepare the first meals- through dinner there is harvesting going hand in hand with cooking. All meats served at Floras Field Kitchen come from our nearby 150-acre ranch where animals are humanely raised on diets that do not include hormones or antibiotics. In the evening, and for Sunday brunches, the wood-burning oven becomes Mamas pizzeria. We make Neapolitan style pizza with fresh mozzarella and dough that is built over time and handled lightly.
