I won't focus of the food, which was delicious (I highly recommend the fish), the setting, casual yet with a little bit of south of Italy formality. I want to share the experience as I remember it, which was about the beauty of this place. This restaurant was recommended by our AirBnB hosts in Gallipoli. The small village, Felline, between... Superb delicious food! Honest and still refined cuisine of the Sanento region, we loved it. Definitely worth the visit.

There were 4 of us dining and several problems occured during our stay at this place: 1. Food was served cold - 3 of us at the table experienced this 2. I ordered some grilled red fish - tasted quite bad, no condiment, salt, nothing. It was just thrown there. 3. Although all of us got different kind of dishes,... More

The food we received was cold, they added extra items to our bill, when we asked for the manager to sort things out we had to wait for 15 minutes and didn't even receive an appology.

Since it's the best restaurant of the city, we expected much more than we received. The order was some mixed some forgotten, the bill was overcharged with more than one item, the waiters were not paying attention to tables and answering very slowly to questions (more than 10 minutes), the total was twice than we payed in all evenings in... We thoroughly enjoyed a wonderful meal. We tried degustazione, tuna tartar, tagliatelle with scampi, a whole sea bass, tagliata of tuna and seafood fritto misto - all of it really good. Wonderful Prosecco wine to go with meal. An incredible setting in a small square to top it all up. Yes, it was somewhat expensive but worth every penny. Highly... More

Best meal all trip Tuna tar tar, seared tuna steak, ravioli with burrata and tomato sauce and pudding, all delicious Should be in the Michelin guide, but they obviously haven't visited yet Lovely outdoor setting and obviously the best restaurant in town as it was pretty busy. Everyone dined outside in a beatific square

Great place, small and romantic. Starters were really good, and the fried seafood plate was great. Thumbs up!

Are you looking for really delicious, authentic Puglian cuisine? Do you like fish so fresh it was likely caught just hours earlier? How about an cute, authentic dining room in a small, real, non-touristy town? Il Mulino di Alcantara is your spot. On a recent 10 day trip touring and dining around Puglia, this was our standout meal. Highly recommended.... More

This is one of about four restaurants competing for custom in a very small and pretty town. We were quite early by Italian standards but by 9.00 it was very busy. The staff were welcoming and smiley. Despite our inability to speak the language, we managed to fathom the menu (to their amusement!) - the choice is predominantly seafood and... More
