Very good pub indeed. Lovely situation, great ambience and an excellent, varied menu catering for pretty much all taste within reason. Helpful staff, decent wine list, good draught beers. Had a lovely Saturday lunch here. Booking is pretty much essential for food. would also be a nice place for a beer on a Summer's evening. Will be going back as... More

I went with my boyfriend and his mum on a week night, and from the minute we walked in the staff were lovely, wine was beautiful. A very relaxed atmosphere with amazing food, and the muscat dessert wine was to die for. My boyfriend had the steak which he said was far better than from a steak restaurant we had... More

We came for Sunday Lunch and had a really good meal. Although a limited menu (only roast beef when we went) The food was very good, with a huge yorkshire pudding, melt in the mouth beef, crunchy roast potatoes and the best tasting carrots I have had. Others in the group had steak and chips and guinea fowl both of... More

I couldn't fault the food I had today. The staff were very well trained and attentive. Walking out of there I said to my wife,'they were the nicest carrots I've ever had'. I don't know how they got such flavoursome carrots, and I wish I could make mine taste like that at home.

After having a memorable lunch 4 years ago, we tried 3 times to get a table, finally succeeding with a lunch reservation. But it didn't live up to our memories. Slow and disinterested service and very small portions. I had Crab Risotto for main course, but I thought they had brought me a starter portion and there was less than... More

We visited the restaurant during our Christmas break on boxing day. We ordered the three courses from the specials menu. The panacotta dessert was to die for. The restaurant and pub are lovely and modern with a great decor. The recommended wine for our meal was fantastic. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. We will definitely return when we come... Popped in for a quick lunch on our way back from the lakes. Lovely place with a good menu and food was delightful! Didn't stay too long but there is a lovely seating area around the fire which is perfect if you want to chill with a coffee, unfortunately we didn't get chance to enjoy that but lots of other...
