For a nice lunch try Cadence. The decor is awesome and most of the art work on the walls is for sale. It can be a bit expensive, depending on what you order. But the food is delicious.

Cadence was a treat. We were at the new location for Bow Cycle and asked a sales person there for a good place that serves breakfast all day. She said, "today is your lucky day" and pointed us at Cadence. She was right. I had the best eggs benedict ever. The place is retro but comfortable with lots of seating.... More

I always prefer supporting local cafes as opposed to huge monster chains. This cafe is cute in its retro decor, and offers a variety of milk options for those who are lactose free and also offers gluten-free options! Their lunch menu is delicious and healthy and is of good quality. Its a great busy little place to catch up with... More

I had to come to Bowness on business and was pleasantly surprised to find a fifties diner with red arbourite tables and stools and a black/white checked floor. I ordered herbal tea and a lemon loaf which came to more than $6, too pricey for a "country" diner, as the loaf slice wasn't very fresh (beware of baking wrapped in... More

This place definitely has its own neighborhood vibe and is well supported by its community, which you can feel while you spend a few minutes perusing the menu. Pleasant place, but with an underlying feeling of 'take it or leave it' - we have people waiting to get in behind you who aren't going to be as fussy, though our... More

We had driven by here so often and it's always crowded. The street appeal was not so good however, we decided that if so many people were inside, there had to be something going on. There was! The breakfast huevos rancheros is amazing! The coffee is excellent (finally a place that knows how to make coffee!), the carrot cake is... More

My dad said, never eat at restaurant that isn't busy, so he would be here just for that reason. This place hops when the doors open, and for a lot of reasons. It has a great 50's diner feel, the staff are friendly, and there's a lot seating, including benches outside for enjoying the sun. I only had an iced... More

The real shining light of this place is the hearty food; it's not a greasy spoon, but it's not high-end by any means either. Everything is baked and made from scratch in-house, with very few exceptions (almost none). Portions are large, the coffee is legitimately high-quality, and the ambiance is sort of 50's Diner-ish, though moder modernized. A real highlight... More

Popped in for some coffee to take out and changed our minds. Decided to have them to stay. Just felt good to sit and relax a bit after a hectic day. No rush. Quiet conversations and just a friendly place where you feel you should bring the cups back to the counter so that others can enjoy the space.

Cadence has an awesome vibe and makes IMHO the best coffee in YYC. The daily specials are great as is the regular menu. It is frequented by a strong repeat customers base because of the great food, coffee and serving staff. I come up to the order counter and they know my name and what I want. Great place with...
