Trips to Wendel's are a mainstay in our family. My husband & son meet for Wednesday breakfasts - mainly because it is consistently good and the crowds are less during the week. Good selection of treats for afternoon tea, gluten free treats that really taste...More

Came here in the morning for a little brunch, this place was PACKED. Staff still remained friendly and the service was great. Their bacon macaroni was delicious and warmed up apple pie was perfect. The menu was extensive and they serve breakfast until 11:30 weekdays...More

I love eating at this book store/restaurant. It has great brunch for a really responsible brunch- I always get the eggs benny with avocado. I would suggest it to anyone including families for friends with dogs! The outside patio is heated and dogs are welcome!

It was difficult to start a day without breakfast and a cappuccino at Wendel's after our first visit. A chance to catch up with friends, or with the news from a selection available in the book shop. Great friendly staff. Tasty well prepared healthy meals...More

Always busy! Goods good. Heated outdoor patio great for people watching along the street. We always stop for coffee and bakery goods. Lunch is surprisingly good for a "coffee" shop.

I was there with my family on a Sunday, prior to Victoria Day and we decided to stop and have our breakfast here. The food is good but the service lacks efficiency, despite the young ladies running through the restaurant serving and cleaning tables. Cleanliness...More

Fantastic spot to stop for a nice cup of java or a spot of lunch. Food is good as well as licensed if you prefer a beer or a glass of wine. Well worth stopping in for a nice break while touring the lovely village...More

This place can get pretty busy on the weekends. But the food is exceptional, and definitely worth the wait!

Wendel's nourishes hungry minds and bodies as an independent bookstore and fresh-food café. The café lavishes readers with a menu of fresh fare made in-house that eschews preservatives and accommodates dietary needs with wheat-free, dairy-free, and vegetarian options. An outdoor patio puts patrons in prime reading, people-watching, or espionage-conducting position to enjoy local scenery along with breakfast selections such as organic blueberry pancake and omelettes. Lunch and dinner selections span hand-held bites such as the chicken-and-avocado wrap and heartier dishes such as wild-salmon-and-asparagus salad. Coffee and espresso creations range from lattes and cappuccinos to mocha frappes and are brewed with beans from local roaster Moja Coffee and water from the local fountain of youth.
