Miku is an experience as much as it is a gourmet sushi/Japanese restaurant. The atmosphere, the explanation of each dish and the enjoyment of each delectable bite is all part of it. Located on the waterfront close to Canada Place Pier, the views add to...More

I navigated the menu choosing fusion and more traditional Japanese dishes. Every single morcelé was a delight. Nice service, good explanations.

The food here is not only tasty but presented so beautifully. Loud, fast moving and energetic place and so busy so a reservation is a must. Would go back in a heartbeat. Don’t miss this restaurant when in Vancouver.

There are different versions so you would need to ask a server or call ahead - but I had a sampler platter and distinctly remember none having dairy. Not the usual sushi sauces.

Description
We specialize in Aburi, or flamed-seared sushi, which was developed nearly a century ago in Japan. The act of applying fire directly to sushi enhances the natural flavours and textures of the fish, creating a new and exciting culinary experience. Miku owner Seigo Nakamura innovated the Aburi concept by crafting specialty sauces using non-traditional Japanese ingredients to pair with each type of fish. The light sear from the binchotan (Japanese bamboo charcoal) caramelizes the sauce, releasing a smoky aroma and bringing out the finest flavours in each piece of Aburi sushi. Miku Restaurant is within walking distance from the Pan Pacific Hotel, Canada Place, Fly Over Canada, Cruise Ship Terminals and Sea Bus.
