I visited this restaurant with my friends. We were a group of 7. The restaurant isn't so big, but looks very cozy, fun, and lively. The waitress/waiter we had was very friendly and helpful. We had a great time. Food was very interesting. Creative, fun, and hip! We ordered Warm Kale Salad, Asparagus, Deep fried Lamb belly, fresh pasta, potato... More

I visited the Oakwood with a few friends after a night out and had a fantastic brunch. I loved the look of the place, with the option to sit on their patio, or enjoy the unique decor of the interior. Caesars were on special, which is always a bonus! I had the best brunch item I have had in a... More

The restaurant has a good look to it, clean and the service was good. No problem with the presentation of the food.

The service was outstanding and the decor was lovely. The kale salad is worth the visit. The burrata with quince and celeriac purée was far too creamy and one note. The corn cake dessert was incredibly dry and unappetizing; it was removed from the bill.

Five of us came to celebrate a family birthday. The asparagus dish was an absolutely fabulous flavour combination...I'd recommend ordering two if there are more than 4 of you. The lamb belly came as 5 pieces so one each...delicious...never had deep fried lamb before. We ordered bread to sop up the super tasty zabayon served with the gnocchi dish. The... More

We were not expecting the menu setup. It is designed for ordering multiple large appetizer plates and sharing. We decided to give it a try and it worked out well with each of the eight of us ordering a dish and all trying most of them. The hamburger choice was not really suitable for sharing but most of the others... More

We ordered asparagus, fresh spaghetti, pork cheek and Ling cod. All the dishes had very balanced flavors and the combination of components appropriately showcased the ingredients. The ambience of the restaurant is cozy and fun. The service was a little slow and the server didn't refill our water as often as he should have. Other than the service, the experience... More

Amazing banana bread French toast and eggs benny! May take a bit to get a seat/food, but it's definitely worth it!

Well what ever you do...order the kale salad! You will love it.....and David the server. Both have what it takes! It is abit cramped if you are a twosome. Larger booths are available but you better reserve. The food was delicious as were the cocktails. It is a busy place. We will return for sure.

We love the oakwood. Great food. Great spirits and wines. Great service. They offer a brunch on Sundays as well. Love the warm kale salad.

Staying in Kitsilano

Neighbourhood Profile
Kitsilano is one of Vancouver's most transformative neighbourhoods. With a long history of coffee culture and poetry readings, its days of flower children and buskers may be long-gone, but not without leaving their mark on the number of organic restaurants and fair-trade cafes in the area. At the centre of Kitsilano ("Kits" for short) the almost idyllic expanse of Kits Beach offers the opportunity for a relaxed afternoon of beach volleyball or sunbathing. Along with the beachfront, nearby public pools and trendy street-beats have driven up the homeowners prices, making it a haven for stylish home goods stores, from design and furniture, to supplies and appliances. The multitude of both families and public spaces also make it a happening neighbourhood in the summer, when festivals and fairs take to Kits' streets.
